Didn't know it was so bad for you, I just don't care for it. I don't drink it.

I have made several recipes for Raingirl and I to drink, all yummy.

But our local Brahm's has some they make that is delish and I don't have to make it.

Just fine with a little Basil Hayden!

I have loved eggnog (minus any alcoholic beverages) since my grandmother made it for us kids. When I was younger, my wife made it for me (still minus alcoholic beverages) at Christmas. I haven't had it in years since healthy living has become my lifestyle.

A friend and I had nothing scheduled during the week between Christmas and New Years when we were in Viet Nam. We mixed a 1.5 liter of brandy with two half gallons of eggnog and drank all of it.

While drinking it, we discussed hangovers. We decided if we just kept drinking, we would never have a hangover. After about three days of drinking various things, I woke up with a really bad hangover.

The medic saw me and said I looked like pure hell. He told me to follow him to sickbay for a cure. As I was following him, I was wondering what he had like pure oxygen or some new medicine. When we got in sickbay, he pulled out a 1.5 liter of 101 proof Wild Turkey.

It kinda reminds me of donuts: It contains absolutely nothing that is good for you. No vitamins. No minerals. No fiber. Only traces of protein. Just fat, sugar, and alcohol. And that's what makes it so yummy.

I like it, always have since I was a young teenager celebrating the season with the extended family party. Only what I drank had no alcohol in it.

Can't drink it now due to blood sugar issues.

Don't like it. At all.

My grandmother gave me a recipe that she told me has been in the family since the 1870's. Eggs, vanilla bean (not extract), raw sugar, milk & cream. It takes me an afternoon to cook and prepare. Final ingredients are Russian Vodka and VSOP Cognac. Killer final result. Smooth and warm and appropriate amount of vanilla flavoring with a small explosion in your chest as it is going down.

I make it every year and my friends and family always ask me if and when I will have it ready.
