Home Depot/ Lowes has this on the shelf.
DIY project, figure 3-4 hours.

Like I said- pressure wash the alge off right when that boat goes on the trailer! Soooo much easier getting it off when the alge is still wet. When it drys, it's a royal pain!

You want to use Stain Solver which will make it look like new. It is sold by ASK THE BUILDER.

Farmers use it when washing their underwear after being in the field for 12 hours. Big Grin Beats buying new underwear.

I you replace the carpet, make sure you get Marine carpet which has a rubber backing. Outdoor carpet will let water through and rot the flooring.

If you take the carpet out, make sure you prep the flooring and filling in all holes and cracks.

I'd pick a sunny day and go at it with a long handle brush and a hose with a regular spray nozzle. Power washer if this doesn't work. Spray floor soaking wet and pour straight Fabuloso on the wet carpet. Use a long brush/pushbroom and agitate the hell out of it. Get a big lather and scrub for a few minutes and then hose it off. Let it dry in the sun.

It may not look perfect but you'll know it's clean and it will smell great.

I bought a nice pontoon that was not cared for but I got it for a great price. This pontoon had only covers for the furniture which save the furniture. But the carpeting was growing plants I shit you not. The dirt was deep enough to gro plants. My thought was to remove everything and replace the carpet. But I thought well let’s try pressure washing it first. The crap that came up was unbelievable. But it worked I never had to replace the carpet and I enjoyed the pontoon for 7 yrs and sold it for what I paid for it. Try power washing with a non bleach mold cleaner.

Mildew grows on plants, unless you have plants in your boat, you don't have mildew.

Bleach does not kill mold, it "bleaches" it. It strips what is above the surface of its color, but the root system remains.

While the carpet on your boat is more than likely synthetic, there's organic material within it that the mold is living off of. Deprive the mold of moisture and you'll take care of the mold. Mold spores will still remain and can become active when moisture is back.

They make marine mildew removers for outdoor carpet, they work so-so, but it's worth a try. 3M and 303 make it and are the better brands. I wouldn't pressure clean it, it will simply disintegrate. My guess is the carpet is on top of plywood. The carpet that is on it is a cheap outdoor carpet that I haven't seen on new boats in over 10 years. Your best bet is to just tear the carpet out and put new carpet or something else. The problem is, and I can't exactly tell by the pictures but it looks like the carpet was glued down first and then everything (seats) was bolted down on top of it. If you unscrew everything, make sure to bed the holes with 5200 before re-screwing.

And yes, yachts don't have carpet outside. Non-skid paint/gelcoat, teak wood, or imitation teak.

Because it's CHEAP and quick and easy to install marine carpet on smaller boats. Simply spray glue it down over plywood (usually not even marine plywood) is what a lot of freshwater small boat manufacturers have done etc.

Pressure wash. That looks like good marine carpet. I have cleaned the carpet on my pontoon with good results with a pressure washer. Just use wide a tip and keep it moving. If the carpet is no good you will know it. The washer will tear it up. Don't go out and buy an expensive cleaner just use some dish washing soap.

I'm going to just pressure was it first with the tongue of the trailer raised as suggested so the water can drain off and see how much of it is just surface. Then I will go with a mold mildew remover with what's left.

Once I get it home it probably won't see the water again this season. Having just purchased our lake place this year the dock purchase hasn't happened yet. So I will have the entire fall to work on it.

Marine31 mold an mildew remover for the vinyl seating. then the conditioner protectant.

The stufff is amazing

Good reviews on Amazon as well as the 303 products. The Marine31 doesn't say if it's good to put on carpet does anyone know for sure if it will work on carpeting?

Not recommended for carpet

It does wonders on vinyl. I’ve used just about every product out there and this was the only one that did what it claims easily. I spray all the gel coat with it each springs to kill anything prior to annual spring wash, compound and wax. Also use it for some around the house applications. I buy direct from their website or from Autogeek by the gallon

A magic eraser and Rolloff cleaner Or Z Cleaner works very well on vinyl also.
