Never miss an opportunity to STFU |
They are goin to put a new strip mall here in town. After they cleared the area at one end, they dug down about 10-15 feet below grade and installed some green U-shaped parts a couple of feet tall. There were a bunch of them In a row. Then they covered them with dirt, and now they’re ready. What the heck are those green things. They looked like they were correlated fiber glass. Any ideas? It's to collect the rain water from the parking lot and allow it to leach into the ground slowly. Think septic tank on steroids. Helps to prevent the overuse of the storm sewer system.

technically its an underground "storm water retention system". eliminates the 1/4 acre "silt ponds" you see on larger developments. all this is considered BMP in civil engineering terms. this translates to "Best Management Practice" which cover a myriad of design methods. tymll john
