gpbst3Best way to ship over sized packages
I need to ship back window shutters, 16 total. There are 8 boxes each about 5.5 ft x 1.5 ft x 3 in. They originally came zip tied together in 3 bundles.
What would be the best way to ship them and through what carrier?

a1abdjI generally use Uship to get quotes from several freight companies. They get a discount due to their volume that you will not get when dealing with the freight company yourself.

ewillsHow much do they weigh? We use YRC freight to ship engines and transmissions regularly. We always get the same drivers, and I have never had an issue with them. You can setup everything and pay by CC on their website. The few times my customers have used a 3rd party to arrange shipping thru a carrier has caused us a lot of headaches. Just one guys experience....

smschulzBest way to know for sure is to go online (UPS,USPS,FedEx) and plug in the dimensions and weights to get your price to your destination.

jimmy123xAlso try Roadway in addition to Uship and Fedex ground. Have you tried calling the shutter company and seeing who they use? If they're shipping you new/replacement ones, the old ones might be able to go back on the truck the new ones came on.
