The word is out - if you make it to the U.S. you can stay. This magnet is drawing people from all over the world. Good on Trump for taking bold measures to try to stop this crisis.

EL PASO, Texas – More than 500 migrants from African nations -- including Angola, Cameroon and the Republic of Congo -- have been apprehended in Texas, at the Del Rio Border Patrol sector of the U.S.-Mexico border, since May 30, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

One group of 116 African migrants apprehended by border agents last week were caught wading across the Rio Grande in order to gain access to the U.S., authorities said.

Del Rio sector's chief patrol agent, Raul L Ortiz, told BBC News that language barriers and cultural differences were causing "additional burdens on processing stations" as border agents process migrants who come from areas other than Spanish- or Portuguese-speaking Central and South America.

It remained unclear what route the African migrants had taken to arrive to the U.S.-Mexico border. Some Africans recently told NPR they traveled from Africa to Brazil and then north though Colombia and Central America.

CBP called the “dramatic rise” in migrants from Africa a “humanitarian crisis,” according to BBC News. The City of San Antonio is asking for French-speaking volunteers to help them cater to this new group of migrants.

“BREAKING: City confirms hundreds of migrants from the Congo have arrived in SA. The city is in desperate need for French speaking volunteers,” local news reporter Jaleesa Irizarry wrote on Thursday.

A city spokesperson told the BBC that officlals are "operating a resource center for those traveling" and have "partnered up with local charities" as African migrants flow in from the border.

It's unclear if the migrants in Texas were seeking asylum, and the agency is still processing them.

The number of migrants apprehended at the U.S.-Mexico border skyrocketed last month to levels not seen in more than a decade, with U.S. Customs and Border Protection reporting nearly 133,000 arrests in May.

"We are in full-blown emergency," a CBP official told Fox News on Wednesday. The number of apprehensions was the highest monthly total in more than 13 years. In April, authorities recorded 99,304 arrests.

President Trump threatened last week to slap tariffs on goods from Mexico unless it cracks down on the flow of migrants.

And with it comes third world disease.

Wonder how an Ebola outbreak in El Paso will be deemed “Trumps fault”

Oh, probably the same as the girl dying a few months ago: “It’s Trump’s fault these people didn’t get adequate medical screening and care.”

Build the wall. Anyone in this country with a lick of sense is tired of this shit.

No crisis at all. Roll Eyes

Wyoming population = 577,000.

577k/133k = a new population the size of our a state every 17 weeks. Yep, no crisis.

Personally I feel that this is THE biggest issue out nation faces. Fighting illegal immigration is an absolute winning strategy for the next election and the right is dropping the ball. Every day there should be a press release from the white house stating the number off illegals detained or believe to have entered. Like the debt clock. Release the numbers and blame the left. Let them cry racist.

On the other hand ignoring it caters to the leftists desire to destroy the nation. Every illegal is a potential vote. This year alone enough illegals have crossed to sway elections, even in red states. Can they vote right now? Not legally. Will they vote illegally? Yup. Will the left work toward giving them the legal vote? Yup.

The left DOES NOT CARE whose communities are destroyed. They DO NOT CARE what is costs to house, feed, and care for these people. They live, and always will live, a protected life, without worry. No fear of crime, no fear of sub-standard medical care, they are set.

The day will come when Americans living on the border will start to take measures into their own hands. And I will not blame them at all.

I think that's right.

I've read that the term "open border" is kind of a myth. Somebody controls the border. It it's not us, it's them. And by them... I mean the gangs and the drug cartel. They control the flood of drugs across the border and they control the crossings. Children are used as pawns. If you want to cross, you pay tribute to the gangs and their 'coyotes' or you are transporting drugs.

The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I would add that any country that we are sending any aid to WHATSOEVER that is included in the origin of this flood of criminals needs to have the tap shut off. Period. Not one single cent do they get. Every penny we save from this goes directly into strict border enforcement and an immediate return policy. No more catch and release. Back to the Congo, San Salvador, Syria, etc.

Open the modern equivalent of the Ellis Island concept and limit the number of people that may legally apply for citizenship. If we cannot verify your identity and properly vet you, gone. If you are allowed entry, you sign papers pledging your allegiance to the US of A. Period. If you commit a serious criminal act, gone. No ifs, ands, or buts. Gone.

Flood the country with accurate, verifiable, indisputable information about the dangers illegal invaders bring with them. And the costs they incur at the expense of taxpaying citizens for welfare, education, health care, housing, strain on the criminal justice system, courts, infrastructure, etc.

There is so much to do that leftist trash are actively fighting against to destroy our way of life. I see establishment republicans as much to blame and just as complicit as the turds across the aisle.

The survey says...

Not so much. A little old (from the beginning of the year.) Let the economy go down, and that will squeeze out anything else.

Not so much.

Shouldn't those percentages add up to 100%?
If 70% of those surveyed say the economy should be the top priority, and 69% of those surveyed say health care should be the top priority... you are already up to 139% before you get to the rest.

Also, I would say that illegal immigration causes problems with practically everything on that list.

Yea, this is a big fucking mess. Self inflicted. Manufactured by Obamas judicial appointees and congressional democrats.

Over half of all border patrol agents, as well as many customs agents and active duty military personnel have been sent to the southwestern border stations to help process these illegals. These illegals are then turned over to ICE, who releases them into the US with court dates set as far as 8 years out.

Pretty much all of them! Are released into the US.

The child/family seperation ruling from the political hack/judge Obama appointed, has made it a big business. Children are being rented out as get out of jail free cards, then sent back to mexico to be rented out again and again.

Damn near all, every single agent, in El Paso and Rio Grand Valley sectors are processing. Pretty much noone is actually patrolling the border.

The numbers being reported, are only the ones who give themselves up. Which is pretty much the ones from south America. Illegals from Mexico aren't giving theselves up, and are entering unchecked and in numbers unknown.

Exactly. That the Dems in congress are allowing this to continue unabated is criminal.

The judges involved are at least equally responsible. But, like congress, they can't be held accountable in any way.

If its "unconstitutional" to seperate a child from a parent (real or fake), and its also "unconstitutional" to incarcerate a child, and its also "unconstitutional" to make them wait out their asylum claim outside the US, it doesn't leave the Border Patrol many options.

If a US citizen brings his/her child along and commits a crime, that child gets seperated from thr criminal parent immediately. Hell, the US citizen parent gets an extra charge for endangering the child.

The illegals are a protected class.

Trump's threatened 5% tariff on Mexico if they don't do better at controlling illegal immigration across their borders = no progress solving common environmental and water use problems at the International Water and Boundary Control Commission. And never mind that it's been even harder to get the Mexicans to control what they dump in the river than it is to get them to control who crosses it for at least the last thirty to forty years. Hell, knowing the Mexicans down on the border, I'm just waiting for them to cue up the jokes about "black water".

This should probably be a rant in What's Your Deal, but why does everyone insist on using the term "migrant" still? People that break the law to enter a sovereign country are criminals, and fit the definition of "illegal alien" at the least. Yet even Fox news continues with the "migrant" moniker. Whyfor?

Yep. Kind of an elephant in the room.

I am assuming everyone is thinking the same thing I am: George Soros. It probably costs him relatively little to get them started on their journey. This keeps the immigration issue alive and fresh for any given news cycle for an indefinite time. All the way up to the election I'd bet.

It reminds me a bit of the tactics people developed in the "The Walking Dead", using trucks or other vehicles as 'Zombie bombs'. Mainly creating distraction to keep their enemy busy. Sound familiar?
