Well he is convicted but not yet a felon. The sentence hasn’t been entered into the record.

I hope he gets to spend awhile behind bars.

To be legal and technical, at this point in time, he’s not even convicted yet. He only reached a deal with prosecutors that he intends to plead guilty. Formal hearing before a federal judge doesn’t happen until later this month.

Being a convicted felon with the status of John Bolton is not the same as if it's you or me or our brothers in laws,or cousins or uncles. If you can't realize that you have not been paying attention.

Comparing Bolton to Ames in either motive or effect rather trivializes what Ames did.

Yeah, Ames is directly responsible for the execution of some of our assets, he did it for money, not even that much, and he couldn't have cared less. Bolton did it for ego. I think the metric they use is MICE - money, ideology, compromise or ego. Ames did it for money, Bolton for ego.

“President Donald Trump's former national security adviser John Bolton walked into federal court with a very stern expression before admitting to stealing national security secrets.

He pleaded guilty on Friday to a single charge of retaining classified information - a significant update in his criminal case, and one that may help him avoid a lengthy jail sentence.

Under the terms of the deal, Bolton could serve up to 60 months, or 5 years, in prison in exchange for his guilty plea. He may also be required to pay a fine of up to $2.25 million and serve 100 hours of community service. …”

I'd love to see him do some jail time - if for nothing else then for the way he spouted off when they tried to get Trump on the same charges.

Prison would be tough for Bolton unless he can arrange to start a war between factions.

From Para’s post on page 2:

“2023. John Bolton: The indictment against Trump for mishandling classified materials should be the end of his political career and the beginning of his jail time.”

I hope Bolton gets a big slice of jail time. He well deserves it for multiple reasons.

If you look up the definition of “Karma is a bitch”, you would see, “See John Bolton”.

I know there are guys who want to see him hang from a lamp post, but if he gets this, great, it is one in the win column.

Just as long as we never again see him on some leftist "news" show, flapping his cake hole about Donald Trump.

No revelations in this post except for the way the poster stated the facts. Such delicious karma.

"John Bolton, the ultimate warmongering Never-Trumper and self-proclaimed “national security expert,” just pleaded GUILTY to violating the Espionage Act!
The deep state darling who spent years stabbing America First in the back now admits he willfully retained top secret national defense information."

I'm sorry, but there should be no deal for Bolton. He was at the highest levels of Govt and knew exactly what he was doing was highly illegal and unethical. Anything less than life in prison is a slap in the face of everyone who holds a clearance. Bolton believes he was above the law and knows better than you and I. He can fry for all I care.

Pathetic how the main stream has repeatedly says Bolton 'retained' classified material.

I guess a fine (which will probably be paid with someone else's money) and a wrist slap is the new benchmark for blatantly violating the Espionage Act.

I doubt Bolton will miss a meal or mortgage payment, but I don't think he's gonna get rich from a book deal either. It's not like the Left loves him just because he's now on Trump's schitlist. So I don't think they're gonna step up and help him.

No "jail" sentence make it prison. Met a guy who did 18 months in US Bureau of Prisons. He stressed if you go into that place don't get sick. Medical care in the Big House ain't great.
