Mine doesn't have anything like that.

So, 12131, on the off-chance, was your social security card laminated, too?...

It wasn't.

Glad to hear that you got a genuine valid SS card, and that you actually applied for it, even if you didn't realize that you had actually applied for it at the time.

You'll have no trouble getting your medicare card. It will come in 10 to 15 days.

Not sure if you read my post on the bottom of page 1. I applied for Medicare, not the SS card. I even screenshot saved the submitted application. There were no mistakes on my part. The woman at the local SSA office is the one who screwed up. There are no differences between the original card and the new one. And the old wasn't damaged or laminated. So, the was no reason to issue a new card.

That's what I'm hoping for. Fingers crossed.

Not trying at all to say that the SSA rep did nothing wrong. The rep did something unnecessary, which only served to confuse you. So that was wrong.

4. The woman made copies, sat there and typed whatever that she typed, then printed out and gave me the receipt. Being so happy after sitting waiting for hours, so I was an idiot, didn't even look at it and rushed home. Finally reading it at home, it said that I applied for a SS card, and that I should receive it in 2 weeks. What? Eek

So the good news is that nothing fraudulent happened. Rather, something unnecessary happened. As you said above, when you went to the office the employee completed a wholly unnecessary application for a replacement card. That's not why you visited the office. So that was wrong and only served to confuse you. That error rests solely on the employee, not you.
