bigdealPSA: If you're considering adopting a dog please step in
This is a tragedy I'm hoping can be turned into a success for these dogs. Long story short, a breeder in Virginia that bred Beagles for medical testing got shut down by the state for horrid conditions and non-compliance with a myriad of state laws, and a judge ordered all the Beagles be taken from the breeder and given over to SCPA. SCPA in turn is partnering with rescues across the country to try and find homes for these dogs. As you can imagine, finding homes for ~4,000 Beagles is going to be a herculean task given the current economy.
If you are looking to adopt a dog, please give this some serious consideration. These dogs deserve a much better future than the past they've had to endure. For info on adopting or fostering, contact your local SPCA or Animal Shelter.

old rugged crossAll ours are rescue's. We have lost several in the last six months as all are of similar age. It is rewarding and all have been as good as good gets.
I did not read the article. But hope all find great homes. They will all give way more than they receive. Bless everyone who adopts and provides a good home to an amimal in need.

OttoSigBeagles are my second favorite dog.
My ACD is still a puppy but I’ll talk to the wife and give this some thought.
