I needed some spade bits the other day and I isn’t have them. Today I found this deal at Lowe’s... not sure how good these are but I am sure they are better than the ones I don’t have. The tag in store said $20 but they rang up to $12.98.

They're a decent spade bit.

One doesn't use a spade bit for precision holes anyway so it doesn't make much sense to spend a wad of money on them.

Hint, just in case you didn't know: If you can, drill through from one side until the center point just pokes through and then flip the piece over and finish from the other side. The hole from the center point will let you line the bores up. MUCH less tear-out that way.

I don't think this is a special deal or anything but a fair price nonetheless.
