I don't understand not being loyal to ones country.
Obama spear headed standing down on country pride so as not to infuriate others.
But the dems have taken it to another level.

We need more time, with more Make America Great Again for the realignment of the left.

I frankly don't think there is any real hope for a "realignment of the left". Although I'm not ready to start shooting them, I am all for making it impossible for them to have any influence on our politics and society (but don't have any idea how to do it).

How can one debate/argue with someone who has no ability to respond intelligently?

They had destroyed our schools and turned them into indoctrination centers to preach the gospel of destroy that evil America.

They have no concept of what America would become should the democraPs (our worst enemies) achieve the power to mandate the changes they want. And make no mistake, they want to destroy this nation as it was founded. I will be 81 in February and wonder if I will live long enough to see how this plays out.

Do I want them dead? Not necessarily. But when they storm your house, blockade your car, etc to force their way of thinking and their rules on us, how are we supposed to respond? Hand them their daily dish of Pablum?

This is quite a timid characterization of Democrats.
Their opinions and ideology are diametrically opposed to American values. Their official party platform reflects this. There is no "may" about it.

And "increasingly offensive" does not even begin to describe the lying, the violence, the hate, the law breaking of Democrats.

A rather Pollyanna look at leftists and Democrats. Mental midgets cannot see enlightenment. I don't want to destroy them, but they want to see my kind die, especially our President. I don't want to banish them, I just want them to leave me the hell alone. And unfortunately, they rather see me and likeminded folks dead.

My only outspoken liberal friend died this year. The big "C". We shared a common love for golf and good times, played many rounds together and even made a few road trips. His liberal widow is one of my MAGA wife's best friends. He was funny and a good family man. Born in Georgia, moved to California as a youngster: his widow was born and raised in Oakland. They met when he was stationed in Oakland with the Navy during Vietnam. He sure knew how to get a rise out of me. His 3 grown kids are all very liberal. I guess I'll have to execute his family someday. They would invite us to dinner parties as the token conservative and I met several people that I had no idea about their political leanings. I guess I'll have to execute them also.

Or they can execute you. Either way.

It might not be that bad. Maybe they’d just be happy to load you up on a boxcar & take you to re-education camp.

I have a close friend of more than 50 years who retired from 30 years as a firefighter. He once told me that as a young man he thought he was a democrat, right up until he had some assets, then woke up one morning and realized he was a Republican. Working fire and EMS calls in the hood probably had some bearing on his awakening, but people can change their positions over time.

The thing I find most disturbing about the current political climate is the downward spiral of dialogue between opposing viewpoints.

Nothing angers me more than to be characterized as an uneducated, backward, racist old white male just because I am an old white male. But I, and people who look and think like me have been labeled as such by a significant portion of the media and population. Never mind the significant contributions we have made to the prosperity of this country.

Once the sides have demonized one another, they stop seeing one another as people and meaningful dialogue is impossible.

One consistent characteristic I have seen in liberals throughout my adult life is their vehement defense and use of free speech-but only to the extent that the speaker agrees with their point of view. All counter arguments are "Nazi" of "Facist" or "Racist", et al.

I fear that only a national catastrophe, such as a world war or epidemic, will bring us to reality and galvanize us once again as a nation. I fear for the future of my grandchildren.

This should be copied and pasted in all of our email to all of our respondents. This article is right on.
I personally go farther. I think the democrat party and many of the elite in the republican party are fellow conspirators in trying to cause the collapse of our republic form of government.
Most of the attacks are about the rights of our
citizens and state rights. Our constitution clearly defines the states are "STATES"and so limits federal powers (a small federal government) and then clearly mentions how every thing else is UP TO EACH STATE.
Thus education is not mentioned as a federal authority__the federal Department of Education is a violation of the constitution.
These democrats as well as RINOS have been "anti-American"for decades.
If they succeed and they're very close__ look for a parliamentary form of government to replace our republic!
There goes your 2nd Amendment rights.

This times 1000. At their core, real Americans believe in individual liberty and personal responsibility and work to preserve those values by limiting the power of the state. Leftist, which includes most modern "Democrats/Progressives/Socialist" and many RINO's, believe in the power and primacy of the collective. This is why they are so keen on the use of "identity" politics. The individual who does not agree with them is lower the whale dung in their opinion. The collectivists are totalitarians of the highest order. Once in power, they will take any steps they can to eliminate those who do not conform to the collective.

I knew we were in big trouble when obama said he wants or will "fundamentally change" America. I don't recall if that was when he was first nominated or elected. My heart stopped for a moment right there.

Same here.
Obama is largely considered a failed President.
Sure, he was lazy, haughty and not as smart as he was portrayed to be. However, he did get Obamacare passed by Congress, albeit fraudulently. We put up a united front against Obamacare in 2010, which returned control of Congress to the Republicans, but we've never managed to kill it, root and branch.
Obama succeeded in changing our nations' view of socialism, at least among the younger generations.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Mine did also. Thanks for bringing this up, as I remember being really upset then and for years after. I did and still do believe that Obama changed America for the worse. His and his advisers focus was on dividing America along racial and gender lines.

Your post nudged me revisit this statement and I see that I (we) were a victim of fake news.

Here’s Obama’s original statement, in an October 2008 campaign visit to Columbia, Mo:

"Now, Mizzou, I just have two words for you tonight: five days. Five days. After decades of broken politics in Washington, and eight years of failed policies from George W. Bush, and 21 months of a campaign that's taken us from the rocky coast of Maine to the sunshine of California, we are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America .

"In five days, you can turn the page on policies that put greed and irresponsibility on Wall Street before the hard work and sacrifice of folks on Main Street. In five days, you can choose policies that invest in our middle class, and create new jobs, and grow this economy, so that everyone has a chance to succeed, not just the CEO, but the secretary and janitor, not just the factory owner, but the men and women on the factory floor."
