County Judge Clay Jenkins just issued new mask mandate for all schools, businesses and government facilities in Dallas county after getting injunction against Governor Abbott’s executive order against mask mandates.

The city of Dallas has a strip of territory that extends pretty far north of the city proper. Like a middle finger, almost all the way to me. I don't have to go out of my way much to walk in some businesses down that way and gauge the reactions. Just to walk in, be told I need a mask to be there, then leave saying 'well, plenty of places nearby that don't require it', and leave with a big smile. Preferably in front of other customers.

I agree, f*ck em. Hard and often.

The Governor and AG have sent a order of mandamus to cease to the Dallas judge, since state laws override their county edicts.

This Dr. talks with the school board about masks and a few other things. If you really listen to what he says it makes the mask mandate look ridiculous and treating people who are or aren’t vaccinated differently even dumber.

If the mask is so great then wear one if you like, you’ll be protected. There’s no need for all of us to wear one.

But, of course, this isn’t about health and safety, it’s about the political elite being able to rule over the peons.

They are conditioning the public. It has been successful on some.

I went to my local Kroger today, we're in Dallas County so mask mandate back in effect thanks to the dishonorable county judge Jenkins. Happy to report I wasn't the only one sans mask, but sadly we were certainly the minority as I'd estimate at least 2/3 or maybe 3/4 were wearing one. My last visit before the new mandate it was closer to 50/50 or even 60/40 no mask. But, no one batted an eye either so I get the feeling most people don't really care anymore and are just going with the flow.

I'm sure you're right about going with the flow. That mandate was recent enough, though, that I kinda wonder: how many of those people at Kroger wore a mask but will notice how many other people didn't and had no problems? Since it wasn't a problem, how many won't bother to wear the mask again?

Down here in Travis, FWIW, there seem to be a lot of people who just don't care anymore and have simply stopped wearing the masks despite the city government and local media being in full-boar "everybody panic!" mode.
