If you watch carefully you'll see they were on already. You can see one of the blades vertical before the debris and water stop falling.

Been down the tunnel of auto crash videos on utoob, seems pretty common in accidents that the windshield wipers come on, probably due to the design of having them on a stalk and the drivers hands hitting them at some point in the accident.

Or maybe she was having trouble seeing the house when she hit the pool.....

Whaatttt? How? Is that house at the top of a T? Or how does one hit a backyard like that? Actually, isn't it rare to have a backyard streetside?

You are right ... ! I watched a couyple more times, looks like the wipers were possible on an intermittent setting before the collision.

Yup, those above ground pools have high upkeep costs.

First splash to first water coming back off the roof. 0:04 to 0:16 . Twelve seconds.

That must have gone wayyyyyyy up there.

Fortunate the kids were not in the pool or on the trampoline.

Intoxicated driving is obviously an issue but sometimes I think I would rather take my chances with the drunks vs. distracted drivers.

Lots of vehicles have rain sensors. Plowing the contents of a pool across the hood would likely trigger them, if they were left on "auto."

If I had a street-side backyard, I'd border it with a couple of huge boulders, or some vertical railroad ties, or some K-rail. Something. It's a good thing there wasn't a bunch of kids in that pool.
