Ronin10692 A-10's and a Third "Classified" Crash in Nevada
This is just weird all around. At least the Hawg pilots made it out okay.
USAF Reveals Mysterious Crash Occurred Just A Day Before Two A-10s Crashed In Same Area 2 A-10s Crash in Nevada, Pilots Eject, Air Force Says Pilot Dies in 'Classified' Plane Crash at Nevada Training Range Deceased pilot left a wife and 5 children....
The aircraft, the type of which wasn't specified, was assigned to Air Force Materiel Command and was flying a training mission at the time of the mishap, the release states.
"Information about the type of aircraft involved is classified and not releasable," Maj. Christina Sukach, chief of public affairs for the 99 Air Base Wing at Nellis, said in an email.
Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David L. Goldfein, while traveling Saturday morning to the annual conference of the National Guard Association of the United States in Louisville, Ky., ruled out speculation the aircraft involved may have been an F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.
"I can definitely say it was not an F-35," he told a Military.com reporter accompanying him on the trip.September 10, 2017, 10:30 PM

Hound DogHmmmmm.
"I can definitely say it was not an F-35." Interesting that he was THAT specific but won't say what kind of aircraft it really was. That will generally just stir up even MORE curiosity. Of course, he's probably trying to deflect any kind of criticism away from the F-35 program (which has enough critics to begin with).
I'll be interested in seeing what kind of follow-up theories/stories there are in this crash, if any.
And RIP to the pilot and prayers to his family. That kind of loss is always a tragedy.
