Confirmed with Joel that my recent emails were getting lost in the Matrix.

Sent you several emails since Jeff Beck and Tom Sizemore passed and you mentioned “Strange Days” movie. None of them seemed to have reached you.
Keep sending you pings but no joy.

Problem persists at my end but not much i can do. Using my regular ISO, iphone built in mailer app and hotmail seems to be untrustworthy. Completely SOL.
Just wanted to let you know it’s not intentional on my behalf.

PS: You might receive emails from my other accounts trying to ping you.

old dino just emailed me flagging me about this thread. I'm not having any email issues with any one else sending or receiving. If memory serves this problem at your end occurred a few months back as well and then cleared up. I believe you attributed it to new email client software on your iPhone.
I have no suggestions sadly. I'll email you in a few to see if you receive mine.

At the risk of offering un-requested, perhaps even unwanted observations...

1. Nicky appears to be using HotMail. HotMail used to be notorious among mail server admins for seriously backed-up incoming mail queues [1] and, more seriously, simply dropping email it accepts for delivery on the floor. (I don't know if this still obtains. I've been more or less out of the loop for a few years.)

2. bald1 is using a provider, Cloudmark, that goes to great lengths to tout its "real-time, automated, predictive email security products." I don't know anything about their deliverability, but, that kind of thing rings alarm bells with me [2].

Either or both of the above observations may or may not have any bearing on the problem.

As I've watched email evolve since the very first days of the Internet, it's gone from utterly reliable to no more reliable than snail mail--and perhaps less. Poor systems management and misguided attempts to make email spam- and scam-proof are the main reasons why.

[1] HotMail was so bad at one point mail server admins for busy domains were creating separate outgoing mail queues for HotMail destinations so email backed-up for HotMail recipients wouldn't delay outgoing email for all their other destinations.

[2] Automated systems to detect and prevent email abuse often result in a lot of collateral damage.

Lastly, in an unrelated note: bald1: What I was referring to in the earlier thread (Re: Your obfuscated email address in your SF public profile) was this: Obfuscating ones email address like that is only useful to foil automated email address harvesting 'bots. I've never heard of 'bots so sophisticated they'd:

• Create an account on an on-line forum web site
  
• Log in
  
• Crawl through pages of posts
  
• "Click on" the necessary sequence to access member profiles
  
• Scrape email addresses

I'm not saying it can't happen or has never happened, just that I've never heard of it.

FWIW: I've had a non-obfuscated, tagged email address in my SF public profile for fifteen years. I've never once received a spam or scam email to that tagged address.

My point is this: Your obfuscating your email address like that is almost certainly pointless and it makes legitimate members have to go to the process of manually de-obfuscating it, rather than just clicking on it and bringing up their email client (application) with the "To:" field filled-in, without the opportunity for a manual transcription error.

As for Cloudmark, that's apparently what my ISP (MIDCO - Midcontinent) uses. Never have had any issues and I've been with MIDCO for over two decades.

If I were a betting man my bet would be the problem is on HotMail's end--just based on historical performance. But, I would've been remiss not to mention the other possibility.
