Just saw a Ford offer of deferring payments for 3 months, then Ford makes the next 3 months pymts. 6 months of no car pymts sounds good if a model you want qualifies.

Tac, it's interesting in our area with regard to the dealerships. Some are flat-out closed down. Others are operating using the internet for most contact/applications/etc.
The VW dealership we are negotiating with only has a skeleton crew working, mostly via email. The test drive was me, alone, with no salesperson. Quite nice.
Their credit application process is all automated and online. You *could* theoretically go through the entire purchase process and not be in the same room as a human being.

Good deal. Jettas are great cars. He made a great choice for a first car.

My Lexus lease is ending so I'll probably go to Vegas or Salt Lake to turn it in and get a better deal on a RAV4 there.

I walked out last week without really being very far apart on the price. They haven't even bothered to call and ask if I was still interested.

I live in the Memphis area, so plenty of options for almost everything. But, my wife and I have gotten so we shop almost exclusively online nowadays, telling the dealer up front that he will be competing with every other online sales rep who has a vehicle in stock we are interested in. Low bidder wins, and we will come get it. We just expect that we will have a partial day travel to pick up the new ride. We've saved some $$ this way.

Good point, and in many cases you have to give up other cash incentives to get that financing.

We are negotiating on a leftover '19 VW GTi at a local dealership. In order to get the VW 0% financing, it negates a $2,000 rebate. So, the car costs $2k more if you use their financing.
My credit union can finance it at 2.99% for about $1700 over the course of the loan. We'll take the $2k off the price and use our own financing, thankyouverymuch.
We are at roughly 20% off MSRP...and I think there's more room to negotiate.

Yep, some just see the 0% and take it.

Gotta look at it both ways & the total $$ out at the end. Which is less?

Yeah new and used car prices are dropping like a rock and it is supposed to go lower in the months ahead.

Heck around here you can get a low mileage 2017 Toyota Camry for under 14K now. I noticed used Mustangs and Camaros have dropped around 10 percent recently.

I just came home today with my new 2019 Highlander, yes I wanted a 2019. Unlike your experience, they only offered me $3000 for my 12 year old Titan with many problems too. They did raise it to $3500. I did get $2500 in rebates.

Highlanders did not qualify for 0% financing, unless it was a Hybrid.

According to the neighbor lady, the dealers are crying to purchase used mini vans. She is bringing home a new Honda m.v. tomorrow. She is trading her 3 y.o. old one in. She said that she still can't believe the deal she got.

Just checked the Honda dealer where I bought my ‘18 Accord.
They are offering 3-5,000 off MSRP to start.

We just got a 2019 highlander as well. We wanted the 2019 over the 2020. Loving it.

What trim level did you get for your Highlanders?

We bought a 2018 XLE new back in 2018. We have enjoyed it so far. Just got a letter from Toyota yesterday about a low pressure fuel pump which may stop operating while we are driving causing the vehicle to stall. Toyota is currently preparing the fix for it, which will be replacing the fuel pump.

Wow, Camry has an AWD offering now. I may stop by and check out what kind of deals they're making. It's more than the min expected 15% off msrp, then I might consider.
