I bought my Hudson Bay six point blanket over forty years ago at the Hudson's Bay store in London, Ontario. It is still gracing my bed and keeping me toasty. That thing has been everywhere with me. Being flat broke at the time, I cringed at the price then, but it was money well spent.
Sadly, after 355 years, the company went out of business last year. It was the oldest company in North America until then.

Scooter123Here in Metro Detroit it's 6 degrees and the wind chill is -11. Have to really bundle up to take the dog outside to do his business. BTW always walk the dog, had someone try to steal my previous dog. Ever since I've been leash only.
Really not fond of the cold anymore. I can remember going out Skiing in -22 degree conditions and thinking back I suspect I may have been a bit mental. Good news is at 70 years old I can still zip up the ski overalls I wore all those years ago.
I've stopped counting.

ChowserIt was 2 degrees before wind chill adjustments today. I normally keep my house at 65. One cat sneezed this morning so I upped it to 67. It's supposed to get to negative temps this weekend.
Husky did not care that it was cold outside.

At my son's house yesterday I saw a red with black stripe Hudson Bay blanket and asked him if it was the one that used to be at our house. He said it was. I slept under it in the 1960s, it was probably bought by my grandfather in the 1940s or 1950s. It was amazingly worn with almost all of the knap gone.
My mom married a guy from Winnipeg and one time when my wife to be and I were visiting there, we went to the Bay department store. A friend of mom's husband was the manager and we were offered amazing discounts. I wish we could have afforded some soapstone Inuit carvings, but we were thrifty college students. We both bought Hudson Bay candy stripe blanket coats that were similar style as worn by the Canada winter Olympic team one year. I still have it. We got them for half of retail and they were about $75 each in around 1980. My young wife sure looked good in it, and my daughter did too when in college.

92fstech2 degrees here this morning and according to Google it "feels like" -12. Wood stove is going full blast but it's not keeping up...I broke down and turned the heat on last night when it got down to 53 in the house.
The dog and I cut our daily 3 mile in half yesterday, and when we turned around at the 3/4 mile point he basically dragged me all the way back to the house. Supposed to warm up tomorrow and Thursday, then get even colder over the weekend.

Maybe if they'd keep the forest fires going all winter that fill our summer air with smoke it wouldn't get so cold!

My wife won’t be exaggerating this morning when she claims it’s freezing outside! I’ll be using the heated seats and steering wheel well as the hoody the school gave me.

Got an early morning tomorrow, and it's going to be 1 F. Not really planning on getting out of my squad car too much, but I know what's gonna happen.

Flannel lined pants are awesome BTW!

trapper189What is that? If you don't have any apples, then how can you take 7 apples away? Negative numbers are hard.
Nice app.
