Tonight we get to celebrate solemnly
because we know that death could not hold Him and come Sunday we will get to celebrate Gloriously because we know that death can not hold us!

I have often just kind of cruised through Good Friday because Easter is what it is all about, right? No, rising from the Dead was the easy part, what Jesus went through for us starting on Good Friday until his resurrection on Easter is what is so powerful. The pain and sacrifice is nothing we will ever know.
I tend to take Good Friday for granted because I know what happens. We were leaving the house tonight and the Sunset was just so beautiful I started to think how it must have been for Mary, the Disciples, and everyone that was alive then.
There was no celebration there was just darkness.
As I looked at the sunset, that my iPhone does no justice

A song that I loved when I was young but have not listened to in years just started playing in my head and what an interesting perspective of Good Friday it is.

The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad.
If we got each other, and that's all we have.
I will be your brother, and I'll hold your hand.
You should know I'll be there for you!

O God, who for our redemption gave your only-begotten Son to the death of the cross, and by his glorious resurrection delivered us from the power of our enemy: Grant us so to die daily to sin, that we may evermore live with him in the joy of his resurrection; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

"I vowed to myself to fight against evil more completely and more wholeheartedly than I ever did before. . . . That’s the only way to pay back part of that vast debt, to live up to and try to fulfill that tremendous obligation."

Alfred Hornik, Sunday, December 2, 1945 to his family, on his continuing duty to others for surviving WW II.
