what is your issue? I do this all the time and have had not had any issues of any any kind? I use the kits at lowes which are probably the lowest quality imaginable.

Guess you have better luck then some of us. Maybe just my hose. Bigger than 5/8" and smaller than 3/4"?

I've had good experiences with the compression type fittings. I've been using some plastic ones that I get at the local Do-It-Center, but these metal ones look great.
