While this will make my life miserable as a vendor to both it will make life better for the customers....Sprint's aging tech has been a major drain on CAPEX for them and Softbank did not want to spend the money to catch up to everyone else and I cannot blame them. TMO has been building like crazy for a couple of years and is a solid number 3 with VzW and ATT being 1 and 2. I have liked TMO since they were Voicestream and I worked for them....and their current boss is pretty cool and he will be taking charge after the merger. I can honestly say they have some of the best customer service and have had for years..IMHO I do not think this will move that needle but Sprint needs to go....but I have never liked Sprint. This merger will take 2-3 years minimum to be completed since their technologies are not compatible without extensive equipment swaps....which is good for me and mine And as background I have been building cell networks for 25+ years and have built for all four of them on both the Engineering and construction sides of the house.

I’ve been a Sprint wireless customer for voice and data since 1999, and have been very satisfied. In San Diego the entire time. For several years in that interval Sprint’s customer service was said (by others) to be poor, but I had no need to contact their CS. I think that the combined entity will do well. AT&T and Verizon customers are low hanging fruit. Sprint closed up 18% today. This post was delivered via Sprint’s cellular network. Serious about crackers

I’ve tried most all of the major carriers for service in DFW, T Mobile was horrible. AT&T’s billing was atrocious...always something wrong. Verizon may not be the cheapest, but they have the best coverage for us and CS is good. Are you guys that are veterans, active duty and first responders getting the discount they offer? I was a Sprint user years back, it steadily declined and the prices kept rising. Switched to Verizon, stayed with them for about 5 years but their coverage upgrades definitely lagged in the areas I go to. Switched to TMobile going on 6 years ago and haven’t had any kind of an issue. Only remote coverage problem i’ve ever had was in Harper, Tx on a hunting trip and it’s middle is nowhere, everyone’s coverage is spotty. Hell there’s numerous buildings and areas around here where my two brother’s AT&T phones won’t work but mine does perfectly. I’m sure it really depends on what region you’re in but i’ve sat in the woods in my bow stand with 2-3 bars several times and never had an issue. ___________________________ Not giving a damn since...whenever...

Thank you Very little |
As much as Verizon has provided us with excellent coverage, no dropped calls that I can remember in 4 years, they are expensive. Maybe thats why the calls don't drop, they have the money to run the company. Then again, I can move to Tee Mobile and drop about 33% or $60 off the bill.... Thing is Cell Carriers don't give a crap about existing customers, you can threaten to leave and they'll just say adios, even when you are an A+++ customer, zero calls, never late on bill, $200+ a month guy. They drop you like your ex wife.... Walk into the next carrier, and it doesn't matter if you stink like cigarettes, have holes in your shoes and make minimum wage, aa a new customer you'll have a cheaper monthly phone bill a free new phone and an appointment to get a hand job from the Queen.. What an e'fd up marketing plan...

Well the folks at AT&T were stupid enough to give T-Mobile $4,000,000,000 because they didn't buy them.

Sprint’s ticker symbol is ‘S’, one of the few single-character ticker symbols remaining. Seems unlikely that it’ll be retained – kind of saddens me. Serious about crackers

They had no choice. That was part of the failure to complete clause. They also had to give TMO free roaming on their network for a number of years. It was quite a shot in the arm for TMO. In fact it could be said at&t's hubris is almost single-handedly responsible for TMO being where it is today. "America is at that awkward stage. I switched from AT&T to T-Mobile and went from four lines sharing 15GB to unlimited with four brand new phones and cut my bill nearly in half. They do four unlimited lines for $100 for military, no one else can touch that. Coverage in rural areas isn't as good but they are improving, city areas are just fine.

Yup. They also have an excellent international calling and texting plan and excellent global travel coverage.

No experience with Sprint but have had T-Mobile for 12~ years. Early on their coverage left a little to be desired but in the last 5 or so years I've been completely satisfied with coverage. My oldest daughter has AT&T and nearly every time we are out and about together, I can get good connections while she struggles. Additionally, for two lines (wife and I) with unlimited everything runs $60/month plus taxes etc, while daughter's bill is north of $150. I hope the merger doesn't F things up. Get my pies outta the oven! |
When I met my wife in 2011, she had a T-Mobile phone and literally could not place a call inside her apartment, she would have to go outside. I've had AT&T since they were called Cingular, going on almost 20 years now and have had nothing but excellent service and reception, plus I get a nice discount via my employer so I'll never switch.

We switched to Sprint last December and couldn't be happier. Cell service is every bit as good as Verizon and ATT in my area and the price is very competitive. Added bonus is basic Hulu is included too. Sprint was the first carrier I've experienced who actually had my first billing cycle processed the way the sales associate said it would. I got all my credits as promised and our bills have been accurate. That's about all I can ask for.

I'm with T-Mobile under the veterans plan. $55 a month, including taxes and fees with unlimited data. Coverage in Western NC is spotty, but here in the Upstate of SC, I am very happy with their service.

A day late, and a dollar short |
I have been using Verizon since my work first gave me a cell phone. Continued to be a customer when I bought my own cell phone, and still am. Hardly ever do not have a signal, wherever I have traveled. ____________________________ NRA Life Member, Annual Member GOA, MGO Annual Member

So this is what Sprint sent to use free of charge to use. We got the Magic Box Gold version. Any info or help appreciated. https://www.sprint.com/en/shop...ECID=vanity:magicbox Beware the man who only has one gun. He probably knows how to use it! - John Steinbeck

I'm curious. Has anyone ventured into the deal Spectrum is currently offering for cellular service? https://www.spectrum.com/mobile.html Per their ads, you can get a line with unlimited data and free talk and text for $45/month, or pay $14/gb/month for data and free talk and text. This cellular service is on Verizon's network. Since I never go over 2gb of data a month (i.e. $28/month on this deal), that deal would cut my current cellphone bill almost in half. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom.
