NASA - new views of Jupiter from Juno probe
Probe launched in 2011, and took 5 years to get there. A billion $ results in some pretty cool pictures.

No doubt, the color pallet was chosen because the shapes in the image are evocative of van Gogh.

Raises a good question. Isn't Jupiter normally depicted in the blue range anyway, from grade school pics through serious science shows and such? Is that really the color tone it's in, or is that just random? How about Saturn? Isn't it usually in the earthy orange/brown range?

Never mind - Googling what color is Jupiter tells me I'm confused on the blue. But do we really know?

I stepped outside and looked up, but can be certain.
