Hound DogID That Airplane
So, I was poking around on Google Earth, and I found a weird aircraft on the ramp at Hickam AFB, Hi.
Of course, those are F-18 Hornets on the left. But, the plane at the bottom right has me stumped.
At first, I thought it was an F-8 Crusader. But, the wings and tail are wrong, and I don't believe they ever used those kinds of wing tanks. It's on an active ramp, so it is evidently something flying (with the range to reach Hawaii from wherever it came from). IIRC, all F-8s have been retired (the last active flying off the French carriers).
Any ideas? It really bugs me, as I typically am not easily stumped with aircraft ID. . .

YooperSigsMy first guess was F4 Phantom, too. But the engine intakes are usually visible beside the fuselage when viewed from above.

mr kablammoI think that the F4 would have a thicker body, and more taper to the wings.

F-4 Phantom is huge, as big or bigger than the F-18’s there
There’s no way that’s an F-4

sjtillClosest I can come is this one:
It's a Hawker Hunter. The camo pattern also fits.
While I was finding that a lot of other folks joined in.

And FWIW there are some old Mirages, some Kfirs, and a few others active in the USA. These planes date from the 50's and 60's.
One crashed back in June LINK.

Awesome, thanks!
I thought it might be a Hunter, but could not figure out what one would be doing in Hawaii. . .
Thanks, everybody, for the input.

Nope, not even close to a F-4. It is a Hawker Hunter.

That’s a 63 year old plane, makes you wonder about parts availability and such.
