The Wal-Mart person where I live doesn't even acknowledge anyone. Lucky he looks up every once in a while to see what's going on.

I have been working 40-120 hours of overtime a month for the last year. Plan on being debtfree (-mortgate) by the end of the year.

Need to cut back on eating out. other than that I suppose business as usual

I guess we have a little bit. We have always been fairly responsible with how we spend, so not much tightening available.

Combining trips, and not making trips to Prescott or Phoenix as often, as gas is still pretty high.
We drive Mrs. Cookers RAV4 instead of my Jeep on the weekends (which is nice because I don’t have to drive).
We don’t eat out very often. Food at home is far more affordable, healthier, and usually tastes better.
I haven’t been off road all summer. Partly due to gas, mostly due to it being hot. When it isn’t hot, there is very serious concern of flash flooding where I would be.

I commented earlier about dining out and traveling.

The vehicle I drive has also been impacted. My daily driver is a truck which was 6 years old in March and I had planned to replace it since historically both depreciation and repairs picks up at the 6 year mark. I also hate changing the oil in it (rant in What's Your Deal) and wanted to avoid changing it this spring.

The new and used vehicle market is insane so I chose not to participate. My truck has been trouble free, I maintain it immaculately, and right now there is no depreciation. Additionally, did not want to take $15k out of savings with the economy going into a recession. Unless your vehicle is stolen or totaled not sure why anybody is choosing to buy in this ridiculous market.
