Ben (played by Oliver Reed) went back to the old woman’s house to get his wife Marian (Karen Black) to leave for good, only to find out in shock that she had turned to the evil old woman. The shot of her face looking up as she arose to lunge at him, with the intense music playing, scared me shitless at the time.

I forgot about that movie, that was a good one.

As 12131 said, the Exorcist, I was a 12 YO alter boy going to Catholic school. We believed this kind of stuff could happen. I remember my parents getting our priest to bless every room in our house. Scared the shit out of me.

I watched it at work with sound off and it's kind of comical. But I have not seen the original.

It’s the only one I can remember scaring the hell out of me. And what a fantastic job it did.
