And all of the dems bullshit amounts to nothing in the end. "Oh, we've brought attention to the issue!"

Yeah, you sure have done that. Newsom wants to redistrict California. Well, Gav, it'll take a special election do so, and it's not looking so hot for you. Massachusetts says they're gonna redistrict! Yeah, that'll be effective. There's not a single red district in the state. Hello?

Meanwhile, governors of several red states say they intend to redistrict. So, yeah, the Texas dems temper tantrum brought attention to the issue and it's all to the benefit of the political right. Great job, you pissing little children. Roll Eyes

Texas Senate Passes Big Beautiful Congressional Redistricting Map After 8-Hour Debate

https://www.breitbart.com/bord...after-8-hour-debate/

The Texas Senate passed the “Big Beautiful Map” shortly after midnight Saturday morning. The party-line vote to approve the map came after a planned filibuster by Senator Carol Alvarado (D-Houston) was canceled by Republican senators using a parliamentary procedure.

The Texas Senate voted 18-11 to pass the Senate bill authorizing a new mid-census congressional redistricting map. The vote took place at 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, following more than eight hours of debate. Senator Alvarado announced plans to filibuster the bill and continue the debate well into Saturday. Her plans were cut short when the Senate Republican Caucus discovered Alvarado planned to use the filibuster as a fund-raising gimmick.

In a letter to Lt. Governor Dan Patrick (R), Alvarado described the bill as an “extraordinary attempt to redraw the lines in the middle of the decade.” She said the bill would create a “dangerous precedent where politicians could redraw maps to pick their voters before every election.”

“I intend to use every procedural tool available under Senate rules” to oppose the bill.
Apparently, according to the New York Post, Alvarado also planned to use a catheter and a urine bag to assist her in carrying out the extended filibuster.

Shortly before Alvarado was to begin her debate, the Senate announced a long break for dinner.

Supreme Court Overturns Ruling Against Texas Congressional Redistricting

The US Supreme Court on Friday sided with Texas, overturning a lower court’s order that blocks congressional redistricting efforts by the state legislature.

The new congressional map is expected to give Texas five more Republican seats in Congress.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, a panel of three federal judges ruled on Tuesday against the new map.

The panel ordered Texas to use its 2021 map in a 2-1 ruling.

They said that it was an illegal race-based gerrymander.

Per the Washington Post:

Supreme Court Justice Justice Samuel A. Altio Jr. on Friday issued a brief pause on a lower court order blocking a new congressional map in Texas that would give Republicans an edge in winning five additional House seats.

The order will give the high court time to consider an appeal by Texas, which is seeking to overturn the ruling by a panel of federal judges. Texas formally asked the Supreme Court to overrule the decision on Friday evening. Alito asked those challenging the map to submit a response by Monday.

The justices’ ruling came as the window to act on the map was running out. Candidates face a Dec. 8 deadline to file to run in the Texas races, and the state needs to notify voters of any changes to maps well before voting begins in March primaries.

Republicans have a 219-214 majority in the House, so only a handful of races could determine which party controls the chamber.

Meanwhile, California is attempting to redraw their congressional map to disenfranchise the more than 6 million Trump voters in the state.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Of course, leave it to TGP to twist the truth. Roll Eyes SCOTUS didn’t “overturn” a damn thing. TGP knew that. They even quoted WaPo. It’s a brief stay so that the high court has time to consider the appeal by Texas. Yet, their article title made it sound like SCOTUS already issued their final ruling overturning the lower court’s decision. I really despise them for pulling this kind of shit, and they do it quite often.

If the redsitricting is upheld, I'll be going to a new district; TX-15. Apparently, the democrats think the maps will be upheld, because I saw a sign today for the democrat candidate, Bobby Pulido, a Tejano musician. He's popular with Hispanics despite his somewhat faded celebrity, has super name recognition, and will probably have a fuckton of campaign money dropped on him. I think this seat will flip back democrat.
