Does anyone besides the Somalis in her area vote for her?
Have a friend who lives in the suburbs of the TCs, he told me back in 2002 that the Somalis caused a lot of problems. Certain politicians wanted them there for votes.

She's not as popular among Somali's in Minneapolis as you may believe. She got loudly booed off stage at a Somali rap concert a couple years ago. By a large majority of her constituents in the audience. So do they boo her off stage one night and hold their collective noses and vote for her when the time comes? Possibly I suppose. Another answer may be vote fixing which is out in the open in Minneapolis.

Reading further into the article, it appears that Laura Rosenbury, the president of Barnard, is a (relatively) right-thinking person:

You ain't holding shit-down and you aren't being repressed. You're a junior at an exclusively liberal university, no doubt you have several papers to finish which are due within the next month and then your finals are coming up. Your demonstrative and obstructionist activities aren't going to affect a single-thing going on over there. If you wanted repression, there's any number of Muslim-oriented countries that would gleefully enjoy reinforcing their ideas of a 'women's place' to you.
