Thanks for posting. I don't agree with MSDNC very often, but in this OP-ED they got it right.

Link to that story below. No word yet if the murder was politically motivated.

I think it works out in two ways.

The more obvious one is that Dems are convinced that they have a right to control all committees because they're good and brave and everyone but them sucks. If they can't control the committee then they can always insist that they "have a right" to obstruct everything that committee does.

Now, think of which Dems get delegated that duty. They're not the sharper ones, they're the mouthy-assed morons like Jim Clyburn and...this jackass.

Second, egos etc. require that she gets some committee seats - and the other Dems don't want to have to either put up with her or let her get in the way in committees like Transportation and Infrastructure, where the Dems think they can actually pick something up whether the Republicans have a majority or not.

IOW, they don't like her, don't respect her, don't listen to her and don't want to work with her (if "work" is the word) any more than anyone else does.

I think you're right, but it would be interesting to see (if it could be determined) how much of a role gerrymandering plays in exacerbating the problem rather than simply isolating it in pockets.

But, yeah - we have fundamental problems in (at least) an awful lot of pockets.

Just like her buddy Talib. Dearborn, MI has been the largest Arab population in the US. First wave immigrants were the ones we like. They adapted to the US culture and were not a problem, even when keep their culture. Live and let live. During the 90s we brought in more and then the problems started. They stopped trying to be part of our nation and started the bullshit that wrecked the places they left.

The districts that Omar and her fellow squad-friends come from are deep blue, the constituents might as well be referred to as Smurfs since they've voted for the same party since the middle of the last century. They're either self-segregated ethnic enclaves where rumor-mongering is rampant and education is low or, guilt-ridden, white suburbs where they're willfully ignorant to the actual struggles to the poor and believe anything that is fed to them in an effort to be 'cool' and hip.

The Somali population in Minneapolis are not all friendly towards Omar. She was loudly booed off stage at a Somali concert last summer at the Target Center. This is not a Garth Brooks concert attended by white males and females this was a Somali concert attended largely by Somalis from her district.

In addition Somali parents are becoming aware of what their kids are being indoctrinated to in Minneapolis public schools and it is not sitting very well with them either.

Link to story.

I think the truth lies in the middle of how people like Omar and the rest find themselves in office. Yes they get votes from their constituents but I think it's lazy and easy thinking to just blame all the idiots who vote them in. You may or may not think voter fraud cost Trump the 2020 election. I firmly do and it caused me to rethink how I viewed past elections. When you think how can there be that many idiots who keep voting these people in? Maybe there is not.

I firmly believe that the “outraged parents” would undoubtedly vote for that bitch over any other demographic in an election. Much the same way democRATs do.
