Below is a pic of a shed I'm building with a single slope "skillion" style roof, where the front edge of the roof is higher than the back, with an 8 ft wide walk-in entrance. It's for drying and storing firewood. The idea of the roof is the rain water will flow off the metal roof to the back of the structure, keeping the wood dry, and giving me maximum walk-in space to grab firewood during the winter. All three sides will eventually be enclosed with LP Smartside exterior wall panels.

My question is about the drip edge that will need to go over the top edge of the first Purlin board on the front edge of the rafters shown in the picture. With a 4-12 pitch, this means the drip edge bend will need to have a total 110 degree bend (90+20). And the vertical depth of the edge needed to protect the facia board (not yet installed in the pic) to extend down 2 inches, though I could get away with 1-3/4 inch in a pinch.

So where can I get drip edge with a vertical drop of 2 inches or so, and should I be able to bend it an extra 20 degrees past 90, so it ends of more or less flush with the facia board nailed into the rafter ends ?

I'm having trouble finding products that could work, or even if I'm solving the right problem to begin with. Building trades are not in my wheelhouse, this is a personal project labor of love for lack of a better term.

Any and all advice greatly welcomed, including any solution completely different or otherwise. I just need to keep any rainwater off the rafter ends and *facia board I'll be installing directly under the first purlin board shown at the top of the picture below:

Call your local roofing supply wholesaler and ask them who does custom metal bending. When I did my roof I was adding 3/4” pvc over the existing fascia board and had custom drip edge made. Made a sketch of what I was looking for with dimensions and angles, and 2 weeks later picked it up.

A trim place may bend a piece for you. Some places will rent a siding break.

I’ve gotten custom trim like that made by a guy who is a HVAC contractor. He has a sheet metal brake for building metal ductwork

Most drip edge is easily bent if needed. Just get extra wide and bend to the desired angle and tack down.

I think I need a z-type or t-type flashing. About 4x2 inches by 12 foot long. I can't pick it up or order from the big box hardware stores. I'm guessing there will be a local roofing supplier who can make them, I think those guys supply contractors mostly.

How are you going to seal the holes from the ribs in the metal roofing? On a roof with a peak, there’d be a piece of sheet metal covering those at the peak.

Get a roll of 6” galvanized sheet metal, take it to a metal shop or HVAC shop and have them bend you the needed length for the front edge of the roof system. Or hire out the roofing if that outside of your wheelhouse
