Looks like a good shoot.

“A customer in a Virginia Beach 7-Eleven shot two people who were allegedly trying to rob the convenience store Thursday morning, killing one of them and injuring the other, police said.

Virginia Beach police were called at 2.10am to the 7-Eleven located in the 100 block of 130 South Newtown Road.

One man was dead at the scene and another man was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with life threatening injuries, according to authorities.

Two witnesses who were inside the store told 10 On Your Side that two young men wearing hoodies and bandannas, covering their faces, walked in with what looked like real guns and told everyone to freeze.

The suspects went behind the counter and started talking money out of the register and putting it in his pockets.

That's when the witnesses said they heard gunshots.
……
Police confirmed the customer, who was 'in possession of a legal weapon,' shot the suspects…”

It's always a difficult decision of when to get involved and I won't second guess this one.

There are lots of military folks living in the area and mostly reasonable gun laws. There was a high probability of encountering an armed civilian if you keep up this behavior in that area.
These three were likely responsible for a string of robberies that night so letting them leave was not necessarily going to end well. The third guy was found nearby.

I'm sure the two were stealing the money to turn their lives around. Yeah...it's a worn-out saying, but you just can't let it go. Smile Only problem is that just 1 of the rabid dogs was put down; unfortunately not both.

It may be just the beginning for the shooter.

What is Virginias felony murder law for the accomplice? Does he get charged for the death during the commission of the felony? I think the shooter will be justified as long as he can articulate the fear of injury or death of the employees/other patrons.

Not sure for first part, hope he is charged.

If you read the whole article, there is no way he's getting charged. All the witnesses are calling the guy a hero and saying he saved lives. He's going to be A-ok.

I love how the two were “allegedly trying to rob” the store while the armed citizen definitely “shot two people”. Not that I’m surprised, but the double standard is becoming deeper.

Success always occurs in private, and failure in full view.

Complacency sucks…
