I don't think you can go wrong with either, but I believe the Toyota is the only one with AWD.

I have an 03 Odyssey with 262K and three teenage drivers. It's holding up well but there are plenty of rattles. They fixed the tranny issue with the 04 Ody.

My brother bought a 2019 top of the line Ridgeline and loves it.

For the Ridgeline you're looking for, I believe they came with AWD like the pilot.

IIRC, the Honda VTM4 has a low range of sorts. Only works in 1st 2nd & reverse & disables over a certain speed.
Might be just a manual locking diff, can't remember for sure.

FTI. The Ridgeline uses timing belt. 7 years or 105k miles replacement. Sooner if driven in extreme heat or cold. may be a factor if you keep vehicles and don't put many miles on them. All Honda v6

Good deal. You'll be very happy with it.

I had a 2007 RTS that I drove for 11 years/105k miles. It was a fantastic vehicle.

I only got rid of it because it was needing several thousand dollars worth of timing belt, shocks, etc. on it, I no longer needed the truck bed, and I wanted something smaller with an enclosed hatchback cargo area for the dog, a nicer interior, and more updated electronics e.g. sound system. I sold it for ~$10k a few years back and put that towards a lightly used Subaru Forester with 30k miles, leather seats, upgraded Bluetooth sound system, cargo area, etc. (basically everything I was looking for).

But I'd buy a Ridgeline again in a heartbeat, if it fit my needs and budget.

Nice call on the Ridgeline. They are a nice utility truck, and the AWD will solve most problems not involving rock crawling.

I particularly like all of the lockable storage in them, and the cab comfort.

Yes AWD which works a lot better on ice and snow covered road than 4wd. Mine is a 2018 and other than Honda replacing the drivers side mirror and the tailgate light cable under warranty I've had no problems. I had *heard* of some 3.5 motors developing sludge and the VCM being a little hard on oil, so I use only synthetic and change it ahead of schedule typically around 5-7,000 miles. Also I want to change the PCV valve about now (around every 40,000 miles).
It would be hard for me to go back to a traditional pick up with a live rear axle and without the Ridgeline's trunk.

Or the Ridgeline's comparatively ultra-smooth ride, thanks to the unibody design.

Love our 2017 Ridgeline, and a 2004 F150 Lariat previously (since 2004). F150 a good 1/2 ton truck but ride and age we moved on. Couldn’t be happier - and it is still a “real” truck minus some towing capacity.

This past weekend put 1300 lbs of pavers, debris, and “stuff” to take to the dump and they were surprised this “little” truck could hold so much. Great ride, economy, build construction, trunk - yeah great ride. Hope you enjoy!
