That makes me sad. I watched Shooting USA for many years. He always had an endearing presence; he seemed like a truly personable man.

I enjoyed watching him as well.

That’s a bummer. I’ve watched him for years. All time classic voice as well.

What a great voice he had for broadcasting. I hate to hear he’s gone.

Back in the pre-internet days, gun enthusiasts relied on print publications for gun news. The first TV show dedicated to shooting and firearms I can recall is Shooting USA. It aired on The Nashville Network when I discovered it in the late 1980s or early 1990s.
These days, we take such things for granted, but back then, the show opened up the gun world. Jim Scoutten made a couple of appearances in SIGforum many years ago. He seemed like a very nice man.

Sad news. Used to love Shooting USA. He brought that aged oak, deep voice, expensive cigar feel to the gun world. Always liked that he had an M14 hanging up behind him.

Wow, had no idea Jim was a member here.
I was just watching the show last night, my wife's first time watching it....and there was Jim.
RIP Jim.

I always enjoyed his show. He also used to do Auto reviews, can't remember what show that was on. That was before he did the shooting shows. RIP Jim.
