So, we haven't been able to locate his body, and because of that, had to petition the court for a presumption of death certificate... That process can take 6 months...

In the mean time, All dads federal retirement pay and tsp, stop. Insurance can continue for now.

That means my 70 year old mother in law has no income until a death certificate is issued, which may be 9 months from now... Unbelievable.

I contacted Congressman Young, Senator Murkowski, and the Governors office. Apparently influencing a judge is inappropriate... So have to tread very carefully. Makes sense, but, want it to move along as soon as possible to help mom.

Got mom set up with auto pay, her information corrected on all financial information, and wading through the mess of documentation.

Hard dealing with loss, even worse dealing with bureaucratic legal mess.
