After my last iPhone thread, I decided that I’m going to buy an unlocked iPhone 16 Pro. I currently have an iPhone 11 and I feel that it’s a little too big to use with one hand (let’s dispose of the one hand jokes, I measure properties very often and one handed use is pretty convenient). I carry the phone in my back pocket at work if that matters. I try to make my phones last about 5 years.

I’m just wondering if anyone regrets getting the big iPhone 16 Pro Max instead of the regular iPhone 16 Pro. If you got the iPhone 16 Pro and wish you’d have opted for the Max, let me hear it.

Never had an iphone, but I am very annoyed by how big cellphones have become. I don't need a tablet, I want a phone that fits in my pocket. I would definitely go smaller given the option.

Yup.
I had one of the bigger ones, not the biggest and hated it.
I went back to an SE2 and it is perfect.

I've been carrying two phones for close to 15 years now. I'd say for at least the past five years I've tried to go with the largest phones possible.

I was not planning on upgrading my Pixel 8 Pro. But a slip in the creek while walking the dog changed those plans.

I opted to go with the Pixel 9 Pro versus the Pixel 9 Pro XL only because Speck Products doesn't make a case for the Pixel 9 Pro XL. I know it is strange. But the only thing more important to me than size is making sure I can get a Speck Products case for whatever phone I am using.

Come February I plan on upgrading my Motorola Edge+ 2023 to a Samsung S25 Ultra.

I post the following every time a discussion regarding smartphones or pocket carry comes up. I go to the local fabric store and find a material that is a close match to the pocket lining in my jeans. Then I take the material and jeans to my local tailor/seamstress and have them add two inches in length to front pockets. I have no problem carrying two large phones in my front pocket.

I prefer the 'regular' size iPhone, wife likes her larger screen iPhone 15 Plus. I've had my iPhone 8 for years.

Android user here.
Galaxy S4 Active
Galaxy Note + [forget which, but before the exploding battery model]
Galaxy S21

Didn't care for the extra size of the + models.

I had my iPhone 8 for years. I like that size. Now I have the 12 mini, which is about the same.

The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I recently upgraded to the 15 Pro Max from an SE. Skipped the 16 for now.

Still have a second SE for work and now prefer the 15 Pro Max for speed, camera/photo quality, and screen size. Don't miss the SE-sized phone.

I have the iphone 11 and find it the right size for me. Fits in my pockets well and can hold in one hand. Don't think I would like to go anything larger. Looking at their dimensions I think I would opt for the 16 Pro.

No. I'm on the iPhone for life program through Apple and if I get annoyed at the large size, I'll get the smaller one. When I get annoyed at the battery life, I'll get the large one. I'd rather spend the small monthly fee on that as opposed to getting Starbucks every day.

I was always a fan of the small iPhones (the SE, the 12 Mini).

Battery life was not as good, but I have a hard time with the bigger iPhones.

If it doesn't easily fit in my shirt pocket, it is too big. IMO, the iPhone 8 is the perfect size. All of that horsepower you are buying in the new phones is just being used against your privacy and security.

I have the max sized iPhone. No regrets. I have the regular pro size as a work phone and wish it was bigger. Handling and packing is a non issue for me. I can’t really tell the difference.

iPhone 15 is pretty good, but I wouldn't like any bigger. A phone HAS to fit into an accessory pocket on my 5.11 pants.
