Are there any brake rotors made from American produced metal anymore? Looks like Hawk may be the closest. TireRack has a Hawk Closeout.

Baer are machined in the states from Chinese metal as are Performance Brake Rotors.
I am waiting to hear back from Hawk.

EBC are made in England but not sure where they get their metal from.

I don’t think so. I use Zimmermann rotors. I think the two foundries left are somewhere in Europe and China.

I use Brembo and you get italian mfg, which while it isn't usa it also isn't china.
And I've been pretty darn happy over a couple of hundred rotors over the years...

I put Frozen Rotors on my truck and they have been great but no clue on where they are made.
I assume they cryo-treat them here in the US.

Brembo does not make a stock replacement for my application.
Not up for spending $2,500 for the 6 piston Brembo upgrade that come on the RST models.

Gonna be hard to find. The brands I’ve seen are ‘finished’ in the US.

"EBC Brakes are made in one of its two specialist factories in the UK and USA. The majority of EBC brake discs or brake rotors are also made in the UK. With modern trends towards cheap imported brake pads and brake rotors, EBC Brakes leads the world in its technology, quality control, product performance and customer service.

We have also seen many so called “Famous Names” resort to Branding products and having them made by licensees in emerging market locations. EBC has strongly pursued its philosophy that brake pads and rotors are safety products, and are best hand crafted to maximum focus on high quality rather than price savings and are designed and researched on an on-going basis in our own facilities rather than turning a high safety product into a commodity marketed price point product. We firmly believe that saving a few pennies on brake pads and brake rotors is false economy.

EBC Brakes remains therefore committed to its exclusive UK and USA manufacturing.
EBC has no less than 8 dynamometer systems in its two factories representing over $3 million investment in research along and with its 60 year pedigree of brake material blending you can be sure that brake pads bearing the EBC name will deliver and perform. Environment is equally important to EBC and brake pads made in our factories have every possible consideration for environmental protection."

Seems like EBC is your best bet.

Let us know what Hawk says. I've used their pads for about 15 years now and been very happy with them.

When I needed high-quality rotors I went with EBC and have been very happy with their rotors.

Ferrari and Lamborghini, McClaren, Koenigsegg and Bugatti will all be pleased to learn that they made the right choice of brake rotors, eh?

It looks like Hawk is going to be our closest.

Hi Black92LX,

Pads are all made right here in Cleveland, Ohio! All rotors are designed here and made in North America.

Do you all use American sourced blanks for the rotors or Chinese blanks like most others that just machine them in the states?

Thanks,

Canadian sourced actually, everything is kept within North America. Almost all of it is kept within Ohio.

Looks like TireRack is having a huge sale on Hawk.

Best I could find for Talon Rotors and LTS pads was $350 for the Expedition on CarId, Summit, Amazon.
$255 on TireRack

For the Suburban they only have the Talon Rotors but for $155 and other places were $250.

I don’t need brakes on either at the moment but they won’t go bad sitting on a shelf for awhile at that savings.

Yeah, price looks pretty reasonable for the Expedition. My 2008 Expedition used to go through the rear pads twice as often as the fronts. I no longer have it, and only have 13k miles on my 2018, so too new to tell.

My Hawk Talon rotors arrived today for the Suburban. These things are beefy and appear to be machined very well.
I sure wish they stayed black as they look very nice. I bought them now since they were so cheap. I’ll likely throw them on in the spring. I need to paint the calipers to freshen them up a little bit.
