I doubt that most Karens would even know what "relative efficacy" means.
Somethin' to do with your kinfolk, I 'spect.
Actually, my sister's name is Karen. Back in November she texted me and asked if I'd caved in and gotten vaccinated yet. I said no, and she asked me to not come to the family Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Which surprised me because she usually has her head screwed on pretty straight. She's drunk the koolaid on this one though for sure, and passed it around to her family. I talked to my Dad a while back and he told me her whole family is against me now. I assume this means I'm banned from my nephew's wedding in a few months too.
My wife's aunt banned us from Thanksgiving over the vaccine. We explained how it only potentially protects the person that had it, and doesn't lower transmission or infection at all.
The aunt is a dental hygienist. She's working and literally in stranger's mouths all day. Frickin' bizarre.

RoboVSince all the mask crap started I think the only time I was scolded for not having a mask was once going to service equipment at a Wendy's and the manager that told me I needed to wear a mask wasn't wearing one.
Being a representative of my company I simply smiled and complied.
Another case of hypocrisy happened a few weeks ago. I was at a medical center for bloodwork. There were about 8 people ahead of me. While waiting to be called I was reading articles on my phone with the mask just below my nose to keep my glasses from fogging up.
A security guard spotted and approached me, very politely he told me to pull my mask up, I complied.
After the blood test when I turned down the last hall to exit there was the same security guard sitting on a chair reading his phone with the mask just under his nose. When he saw me he immediately pulled his mask up. I didn't say a word.

That's a new one for me, had to bleep bloop on the google to find out there was a term for it.
I’d assume it is the same as what we used to call “cowboy handkerchief”.

If that happened to me today I would not even acknowledge the person. I would not look at them or even act like they exist.
I am not sure you can change someone’s mind if they will not even entertain the idea that they might be wrong or at least not grasping the whole picture on something.
Exactly. Best course of action.

sigmonkeyDeal with them how ever you want.
Ignore them, mindfuck them, ridicule them, go full Gunny Hartman on them.
All will have its own effectiveness, or not.
But find your way of pushing back against these people.
They are simply, bullies. Spoiled adults, who did not get their ass handed to them properly as children.
No one need suffer such people.
