I've been using the Dinosaur BBQ (Local to Ny'ers) rub recipe for years and am looking to try something different for my next smoking session. Suggestions please. Thanks.

GT-40DOCI have found that I like Famous Dave's Rib Rub. I use it a lot and like the flavor. It is spicy, so if you don't like spicy rubs/meat, then disregard.

RogueJSKBad Byron's Butt Rub is my go-to premade rub, when I don't feel like rolling my own.

HayesGreenerJohn Henry's Texas Pecan Rub. It has been a hit around here for ribs and pork butts coming off the Big Green Egg for 11 years.

+1. Probably got the recommendation from you.
When I roll my own, it's
Meathead’s Memphis Dust. It's salt free as he assumes you're dry brining with 1/4 tsp per pound for bone-in and 1/2 tsp per pound for boneless.

GustoferDinosaur makes some fantastic ribs, but I'm convinced that the rub they use in-house is different than the one they published. It just doesn't taste the same to me.
I use Dizzy Dust myself for pork, but may have to try Skins' recipe as I prefer homemade things as opposed to having to buy something I can make.
I have come up with a really good chicken rub recipe if you'd like that.

IronbuttI've been using this recipe from Weber ever since I got my smoker about 20 years ago. Simple & good.
Ingredients:
¼ cup light brown sugar
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon granulated garlic
1 tablespoon black pepper
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon white pepper
1 teaspoon cumin

MelissaDallasI second Meathead’s Memphis Dust. Makes a fabulous butt or ribs. Have also used it on pork steak with local (Fischer’s Meat Market in Muenster, TX, a German meat market) peach BBQ sauce - my sister’s favorite thing I cook.

lastmanstandingI have been buying exclusively from Oak Ridge BBQ for a number of years now and I've purchased a lot of different rubs over the years and have made my own. The rubs Mike makes are better than anything out there. He understands spices and is a master mixer. He knows the importance of freshness and he understands the type of packaging required to keep his product fresh.
When you purchase from his web site he makes the batch fresh from when you order. It hasn't been sitting on a shelf for six months waiting to be shipped.
My favorite rib rub he makes is Dominator Sweet Rib Rub. Also works great on pulled pork. Anything you buy from Mike is top shelf.

jimmy123xFor pork butts I like webers garlic and herb seasoning.......with a little olive oil on them........Most of the rubs I've tried were just too darn salty.
