Canada banning school books Login/Join
Just because something is legal to do doesn't mean it is the smart thing to do.
posted
The Trudeau regime has announced a nationwide ban on all school books in Canada printed before 2008, due to the fact that they may contain ‘non-PC content.’ According to reports, Canadian schools are being forced to destroy books printed before 2008 because they aren’t “inclusive” enough.

It's possible such 'school books' may contain accurate information re: historical facts and biological science they'd prefer to NOT get into the heads of Canadian students. You see, they've got new & improved versions of history and science to indoctrinate with now... Roll Eyes

Oh the irony! Trudeau is the same variety of leftist tool that cried foul when books rife with deviant sexual content were banned from school libraries.

Pierre or Fidel?

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I can think of an appropriate quote or two from Orwell’s 1984. Is that jackass EVER going to be removed from office?!? He’s been PM since 2008. Canadian Parliament elects the PM according to which political party controls Parliament (if I understand Canadian election law). The Liberals then have controlled Canadian government for 15 fukkin’ years. I don’t think our neighbors to the north are good neighbors.

The Canadians I've met have all been damn decent, as well as hilarious to hang out with. Like most places, it's their government that are bad neighbors.

I have been speaking to a Canadian/American friend about the mindset up there. He states that most of them believe the propaganda, and when they realize they are being lied to, they don't care very much.

They used to be much more independent, and he does not know why the changed. Perhaps it is the cold, they stay indoors more during the winter, and watch the propaganda machine for hours at a time.

They have an ancient parliamentary system where you cannot support candidates, just the party, and they get dug in like ticks. You don't need term limits, comrade, we own you.

I really love it when foreigners talk about what a circus our system is. Take a look at yours for chrissakes! We look like a utopian society compared to what the blood suckers up north and overseas get away with.

It’s 2023. Should they still be teaching from material that is 15 years old?

It’d be interesting to see how the older history books covered things like residential schools for First Nations children versus the current editions.

The cited source doesn’t look exactly unbiased, either. And almost impossible to read for all the pop-ups and ads.

Don't behave as if you don't know what this is about. They flatly state why they are doing this, so, cut it out, please.

I expect they told the truth vs. the hoax they've tried to perpetrate against the Church.

I can understand them getting rid of books from a prior date, but why stop there? How about cars, homes, etc.? You can't make this stuff up anymore and it seems it is getting much worse.

I don't think that calculus or trigonometry have changed much in the past fifteen years.
