BeancookerMouse found its way into the air conditioner... while it was on.
So I’m in the kitchen, it’s dry and no rain in the forecast. Windows are open and fan is running as there is a lot of paint drying.
There is an odd sound, almost like heavy water drops, or like a hose or something is spraying. I grab a flashlight and protection assuming it’s a javelina getting into something and somehow breaking a water line.
The AC is running and I look and all is quiet. Then it starts the same loud noise that is similar to water falling. I shine the flashlight inside and well, there are mouse bits everywhere. It’s like some weird crime scene.
Anyways, I had to laugh. This little shithead mouse found his way into the spinning blades of death. I hosed it out well, and wished that there was a drain at the bottom to rinse the bits out. I figure the ants will pick it clean in the next day or two.
Have any of you ever had an issue like this happen?

SigFanSeveral weeks ago I found a mouse carcass wedged in the top grate of our A/C condenser unit; fortunately, he apparently just got himself trapped; he didn’t find his way into the spinning blades, thankfully. By the time I found him he was completely dried out. He must’ve been there a while...

83v45magnaI had a call from a girl I was living with in '94 who told me there was
something alive in the utility room behind the washer&dryer. I figured it was a mouse or a rat. I zeroed in on the dryer. Then realized whatever it was, was inside the vent tubing. I cant remember how, but I was pretty sure it was a bird, I think because of what the sounds were like. I didn't want it flying around hiding in the apartment all night so I didn't take off the tube. Plus I wasn't 100% that it was a bird. So, I switched the dryer on Air (no heat) to maybe provide an incentive to go back out. The damn thing moved into the flow, finally noisily terminating at the blower cage. That was sure a fun cleanup job.
I notified the management and suggested they put a cage or something over the vent flap. They did not.
Six weeks later, it happened again.

YooperSigsI lived in an 1890s built tiny house (before it was trendy) with plaster and lath interior walls. My cat proudly delivered me a dead mouse one day, but neither of us knew she had just given birth.
Behind my bedroom wall. The babies died and the stink was awful. Ever try to get into a plaster and lath wall? Not fun!
