Best cordless vacuum for hardwood floors? Login/Join

We want to get another Dyson or similar to use in the new LVP floor to help with pet hair etc. as a touch up between mopping.

The flooring brand recommends a vacuum with no beater bar to help prevent scratches and that’s what we’re looking for.

We don’t need the fancy lighted one that shows the dirt etc. we have the Dyson Animal cordless but it’s more for carpet. It’s now been regulated to a handheld.

Suggestions or experiences would be great!

We use our Dyson V15 cordless on vinyl with two large Bernese Mountain Dogs. It is fantastic on the floor. The only complaint is it fills with black fur in 5 min. Super convenient and it has a softer rotating head for hard floors. Although we also use the carpet attachment on the floors with no evidence of scratching in 3 years.

We also have an older plug in Dyson. As far as sucking power, it’s the best vacuum I’ve used. Also got my wife a Dyson hair dryer. She swears it’s the cats meow.

If the hardwood area is large, consider a robot vacuum. All of our house is tile, except for the bedrooms. The robot vacuum/mop does a great job at keeping the dust/pet hair down. Plus, we just schedule it to run on its own, AND it empties its own dust bin.

Absolutely the correct answer. Robovac is best hard floor vac.

And hard floor is best floor; why would you want a dirt trap, I mean wall to wall carpeting?

Because you’re 80?

Thanks! Looks like the V15 is the one!

We may get a robot at some point.

Which to me means you wouldn't want to vacuum yourself. Hard floor, slippers, and a robot!

We have a Dyson ball. It's great, except on LPV. When you select bare floor, it sucks so hard you can't move it. It sucks itself onto the floor.

100% Get a robot vac, you'll find that they pick up a ton of dust and dog hair.

When our Bassett was still alive Rosie (what I named our iRobot) would be completely full of dog hair. She did a great job of getting under all the furniture and beds as well as area rugs.

Now that Bella is gone, Rosie doesn't fill up as full since the hair isn't prevalent but she still picks up grandkid droppings...

We touch up with a Dyson Cordless V series and we have 90% wood floors, tile in bath areas and mud room...

Costco sells Dyson and Shark, you can get a bit better price there for new, and if you watch Woot you can get a great deal on refurb/returns.
