I'm going to be spending a bit more time at home over the next 2 weeks as my company has graciously allowed us to work-at-home during this "crisis".

I'm watching something on Netflix that is NOT gun related, but does have a major contributor / major figure involved with the content that is vehemently ANTI-GUN.

On YouTube, the content contributors (channels) get ad revenue (from what I can tell). But on Netflix (and other services like them, maybe like Prime), there are no advertisements (at least not on my smart TV versions).

So, how do content contributors get paid? Is Netflix "buying" the content outright or do the content contributors have any other revenue (like $ per views)?

I don't want to support this specific individual because of their anti-gun statements and beliefs, but the subject of the content is interesting.

Anyone know how that works?

Netflix either commissions original content like a traditional network or studio, or licenses existing content from other studios or distributors (buying rights to their catalog).
