Since when did they care?

What is it about $19 a month. Everyone begs for the same.

I'll give them money when they start representing the Jan 6th protestors or Derek Chauvin or anyone else screwed over by this tyrannical regime currently occupying the White House.

Same reason why so many items are sold for $19.99. Because to a customer it's less than $20, and marketing psychologists have determined that spending less than $20 results in significantly less deliberation than $20 or more.

Despite their glaring lack of support for the 2nd Amendment I used to otherwise admire what the ACLU did. No more. These days the ACLU is little better than the SPLC, IMO.
