Funny thing is for the first two days on this river cruise I could log into the Sig forum. On day three y'all were blocked. I just changed my wireless connection to link with my cell phone as we sit at a dock so I could post this. I did send the web server or what ever an email asking by the subject of 'weapons' is blocked.

Even when we had free wifi on a few of the cruises, it was banned from use for my familia. No cell service, no email. Quite nice

And they didn't toss you overboard, per their zero tolerance policy?

I just last week came back from an Alaskan Cruise. The internet fee was $59 to sign up and .059 per minute. The cruise line said service was at the speed of dial up. I didn't bother to sign up. Once we hit a town/city all my emails and texts would come through. No extra charge for Alaska, Canada, and Mexico with Verizon.

No problems (just intermittent WiFi) on a recent Viking River cruise Amsterdam-Bucharest. We also cruised the Yangtze in China last year, I would have remembered if SF was blocked.

Like I said the odd part is that for the first two days I could get the Sig forum and they have not blocked the Ruger forum.....

Of course there is a no weapons policy on board that is not even close to addressed... and the funny thing from a security standpoint is on the stern deck behind our cabin sits 15 gallons of gasoline.... Oh and they don't allow smoking anywhere on this boat.... I could go on but understand I'm not complaining....

American Cruise Line's River Cruises are absolutely top notch and my wife and I are planning to take another one. But be forewarned... 95% of the passengers are Old White Retired Republicans who have nothing better to do with 10-20 grand.

Better than a bunch of screaming kids and their oblivious "parents".

SIGforum is wholesome family entertainment. I can’t see why they would block it. Smile

Anyway, enjoy your cruise. Tell us a little about where you are going.

This was down the upper section of the Mississippi originally to go from St. Paul to St. Louis. First hitch (no big deal) the boat could not get up to ST. Paul and so they had to bus us down to Red Wing.. nice 40 minute ride through the country.... Then the next day we leave Red Wing and go to La Crosse then on down to Depaul followed by Davenport.. but here is where it got interesting... while getting ready to go on a tour in Davenport the folks from the boat say get off the bus and back on the boat right now.. we are leaving because if we don't we will not get down the river. Seems the Old Miss was rising fast and it was going to be close under a couple of bridges.... we had been kind of tootaling along at about 8-10 mph but that afternoon and night we were hitting close to 15mph... made it to Hannibal for a day and then squeezed on through down to Saint Louie. Mark Twain is a true American Icon and Hero and that dern Arch is one more big hunk of stainless steel. We made it down but word is two other river boats are stuck up the river.

So, what purpose does it do to block a gun website??

Are they going to stop a mass murder??

Are they just out to punish people who think differently than they do? Yes.

SIGForum does permit "colorful" language, which some would consider not appropriate for children. However (as has been mentioned), not many children go on river cruises. (I understand Viking is now making their cruises "adults only".)

On my 2010 Avalon Waterways river cruise, the Danube was rising and the boat next behind us had to disembark their passengers because of low bridges. They were bussed up to our boat and another one to finish the cruise.

Yes-sir-ree....Try posting an opposing view on an anti-gun Internet site.

It's quickly deleted and you're banned by the same people who believe in "free speech".

That's funny. And you're right!

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Children on this cruise... ? I was one of the youngest passengers... I'm 61.

I guess they are scared of a mass shooting maybe.. I probably should not show y'all this but on the deck just behind our cabin the crew stored two pressure washers.. sitting beside those were five 1-3 gallon cans of gas..... If somebody wanted to do harm on that boat they did not need a gun.
