Three Generations of Service |
I traveled to/from Michigan via I90 between 4 and 9 September, 2023 I'm still getting Toll by Mail bills from NY. <$10, but I'd think travel from 5+ months ago would have been billed out long ago. As far as I can tell from scrutinizing the website, it's valid and the last couple haven't raised any red flags from Visa, but it just strikes me odd that it takes so long. Anybody else had this issue? Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

I did a couple of cross-country trips through eastern states like New York and Massachusetts, maybe there were some other states that had the Toll by Mail. It did take some months after I returned home before I got the bills. I didn't really keep a record to reconcile against since I would only see the tolls when I came up on them and I wasn't sure how much the toll was. I was just impressed or was made more aware how connected everything is that they could take a picture of my license plate in one state, connect it to the database in my state to get my address. I think you're safe from any "fake" dinging for tolls that you don't actually owe if that's what you're worried about. I didn't really go back and forth over the same toll roads. What I would do is keep a copy of the bills and track your payments so you don't pay twice for the same toll. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." That’s seems about on par for us here. We went to Indy by way of Louisville the first week of April 2023, we got the toll bill for crossing the river the last week of October. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. I will be your brother, and I'll hold your hand. You should know I'll be there for you!

What ever the fuck you do don’t drive through Chicago! I did a couple of years ago and the tolls were something like $40! ------------------ Eddie Our Founding Fathers were men who understood that the right thing is not necessarily the written thing. -kkina

I had the same thing happen to me passing through Maryland, receiving a bill months after I drove through the state. Not the most efficient system for getting out bills in a timely manner.

A toll bill for $4.80 from June 2023 arrived in January 2024 from Kentucky. We never even saw a toll on that trip.

Drill Here, Drill Now |
I had a business trip to Shitcago, and drove several tollways to/from my destination in a rental car. Also, some d-bag construction contractor put traffic cones up blocking off the toll lane I was supposed to be in so my only choice was to drive through the wrong lane toll lane for my rental car. The toll authority took their sweet ass time sending the toll bills (yes, plural) to the rental car company who took their sweet ass time charging my credit card. Normally, all credit charges are in within a week, and I file my expense statement. If I'm remembering correctly, that trip to Shitcago was 4 expense statements due to the tolls rolling in plus the penalty for going through the wrong toll lane.
