Here is what I consider one of the best background to today stories I have read on the subject.
It was sent to me via Hillsdale College in their "Imprimis" publication. It is a rather lengthy but very comprehensive story.
There were a few surprises in it, to me.

No, IMO a new thread is needed. The article is quite accurate from a high political view. The social view of the common people is different as is the view of the upper middle class. Ukraine was headed in a European direction and Putin was forcing Russia into the current corrupt dictatorship. My wife speaks or exchanges emails daily with Russians in Rostov-on-Don. My wife believes that Putin must be stopped. Do not forget the Putin influence in Hungary, Venezuela, Brazil, Austria & other countries.

I read the hard copy and agree that its a good article, a Cliff's Notes of the history of the region.

Thanks for posting, the article gives a factual overview of how the conflict came to be; one that you won’t hear on mainstream media.

It is a pretty harsh (and factual) indictment of the Biden administration's horrible foreign policy record. It is too bad the MSM is unable to report this more accurately, as this is truly Brandon's war. It was not necessary and could quite likely have been avoided.

Here's a video on the subject that covers much of the same info re: political influence and conflict in Ukraine

At over an hour and a half long, it's pretty in depth. I chose to stream it to a TV... Wink
