Seen your address in Mi. Reminds me of a Zimmern cooking show when he went to a place farther north in the UP. The place was connected to the UP south by a small bridge. The people living there with good humor say,"if the bridge ever goes out 350 million people south will be stranded".

? Air travel is cheaper and more accessible than it's ever been, no way in hell I'm taking a bus anyhwere. Yes the TSA can be a hassle but, I find it's other passengers who end up delaying the security process rather than the actually TSA workers.

That is the problem with the dba business model where you have multiple companies “flying your flag.” I’m in oil & gas and we used to make our commercial 3rd party trucks get a $9000 paint job with our logo on it. Every time some dumb bass drove into a bright, shiny stainless steel 8,000 gallon tanker truck we ended up on the news and got sued. We got rid of that model, ended up the news less, and saved the $9000 paint job too. The days of dressing up to fly somewhere have been over for a looooooooooong time. It is a flying bus. If you can't tolerate a few jackasses as your seat mates, I don't know what to tell you. It's simply part of travel. I used to wear noise canceling head phones and point to my throat and then due a thumbs down motion. That gesture made it obvious I couldn't speak. This stopped conversations I didn't want to have unless she was a Playboy bunnie. Which I actually did experience on my way back from Europe one time. Best flight I ever had as she turned out to be bright, beautiful and obviously kind, (hey, she kept talking to me) and I got her phone number. Though, I never did call her. Wish, I had, but she lived in another state and I don't care for the geographically impractical, gorgeous or not...

YooperSigs would know better than I, but I have never heard of of any place "further north in the UP" connected to the UP by a bridge. Furthest point north in the UP is, I believe, the Keweenaw Peninsula, and it's firmly anchored to the rest of the UP
It's a funny ol' thing, but on our recent trip to Europe the TSA was great, the airline was great, CBP was great. Everything was great. Surprised as hell, I was. The single annoyance? Passenger behind me on the flight back playing a game on the seat-back electronics apparently believing he had to jab the screen, which I felt through my seat-back for the entire last hour of the flight. Felt like getting up and choking the inconsiderate asshole to death. Stupid of Delta to put games on those things, IMO. "America is at that awkward stage.
