I tend not to have any liberal friends. My parents are in that camp now, even Dad who has always been a conservative is rapidly and irretrievably slipping to the dark side. My siblings, BIL and nieces and nephew are good though. I do have one good friend that I try not to talk politics with though. He's not a liberal by any stretch, but he is a hard core conspiracy theorist, particularly big-brother-is-watching-us theories. He goes through a LOT of tin foil. I share some of his concerns, but a lot of it is pure paranoia and gets old pretty fast. He won't buy a suppressor because he's under the belief that doing so gives the ATF the right to come into his house at any time to "inspect" things. I have pretty much stopped watching the news, though.

Thank you for all the replies. When I lived in New Jersey I was a news junkie. I read the paper every day and watched the news on TV when I had the time. The company I worked for had the paper delivered every day so I would read it when I was in the office doing paperwork. In 1993 after the World Trade Center bombing the owner had cable installed in the office and there was always a TV on. I would watch the news every chance I got. Then September 11 2001 happened. I watched the news for 11 hours went to bed and then watched it the next day for 18 hours. I started to realize there was more speculation being reported then actual facts. For me that's when it started to go down hill. I understand the emotion of the events of that day,I under stand information was coming at them from all different directions we had just lost thousands of people and I lost 343 brother firefighters however it was almost as if the news casters were making it up as they went along. As I watched the news over the following years I found it to be more about speculation and personal feeling and less about the facts. In 2015 I had had enough and started to limit what I was watching. I had limited it to Fox news. Right around the middle of 2016 I even gave up on them. Since then my news watching is limited to the weather of if I am stuck somewhere I cant change the channel. As far as my friend, we have a lot in common. He supports law enforcement the military and he even believes in the 2nd Amendment. I know I am not going to change his mind and he knows he is not going to change my mind. This is how we stay friends. The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. The American media controls over 90% of what Americans see, hear & read. They have an agenda and bend there delivery & messaging to that agenda- So who’s best interest is being served? ______________________________________________ Life is short. It’s shorter with the wrong gun…

Woke up today.. Great day! |
I'm with you, no network news for me. It reminds me of 1940's Germany. I have a VERY good friend that is very liberal. Also has a daughter that considers herself gender neutral. We talk politics occasionally. He has full blown TDS. I was asking him about some of Biden's new policies. He said the only one he really agreed with was letting men into women's sport. I shit you not, he believes there is no advantage genetic men have. But he also believes high school sports are like the Olympics where they do hormone testing for testosterone levels. When I told him the EO had nothing to do with testing and mentioned what is happening in Women's track in Connecticut. His response was to ask if I had any other examples besides Connecticut and I asked him why because that case didn't fit his narrative? While he is a very good friend of mine I struggle with understanding how he can have the beliefs he has. Now my sister on the other hand is full blown crazy left. Called me a capitalist pig when I bought my first new car for $10,500. Told me I should have donated the money to a third world country. She did not have a good answer when I asked her how I would get to work if I did what she suggested
