Local group Concordia Mural Project is funding murals around Concordia KS.

They got with SF member Calif Phil to put one on his motorcycle shop. The artists are really good and it's got some interesting features in it, see if you can figure them out...

One of the things Phil wanted was it to have a 70's theme and they knocked it out of the park, JMO.

How it started out

Starting out, zoom in to see the penciling.

Part way

There is a nice video of it as it's almost done at the link...

Thanks for posting that HRK. Really coming to life now, the two girls estimate they still have another week to go. Ordered some solar powered street lights to mount on the Parapet. Me and a buddy are going to use the bucket lift to trim the trees tomorrow. It's going to be Bitchin'

SF Word of the day:

Parapet

Def A parapet is a low wall extending from the edge of a roof, balcony, or bridge to provide safety and architectural detail. Its functions include protecting people from falls, shielding the roof from wind and weather, improving fire resistance, and aiding in drainage. Parapets can have various shapes, such as plain, sloped, or stepped, depending on the building's design.

I went to the FB page for the Concordia Murals. The work on several buildings is uniformly beautiful. Some images are instantly recognizable, like Rosie the Riveter, and the building-sized re-creations are perfect! Incredible artistry.

That’s wild. Only thing wilder is if it glows under black light.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
