My Schnauzer likes to ride
I have a schnauzer puppy who follows me EVERYWHERE. I bought an inexpensive dog carrier for my bike on an impulse thinking maybe he wouldn’t misbehave while I’m gone if he just rode with me. I was right. The little dude likes to cruise around my neighborhood at slow speeds.

Very cute! My hounds also love to go with me on the bike, but in a slightly different way. Given they're a hunting/working breed, exercise is absolutely essential in keeping them balanced. As the guy in the video notes, this was a game changer for us. Maybe when you're little guy gets bigger. Smile

A friend of mine that I used to ride with always brought his dog with him on our trips. He loved it.

On that bicycle/walky dog rig...

You'd want to have a VERY well leash-trained dog for that. That dog is big enough that if he were prone to SQUIRREL!!! attacks, there would be a serious crash involved.

Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

That's awesome. His colors are very much like my female schnauzer.

No photo proof to confirm but had a friend with a snow white schnauzer who rode on the Harley while wearing a bikers rag on his head / biker goggles / while sitting on a sheepskin mat on the gas tank between riders legs. Also met a female ridder from Oklahoma riding a Honda Goldwing Trike/w/Hannigan side car(plexiglass top enclosed and climate controlled) who rode with her 3 matched Cocker Spaniels pups. Quiet a head turner in traffic. ....You All have fun now. ................................. drill sgt.

Fifty-some years ago a little stray beagle mix adopted us and lived with us for the rest of her life.

When she saw me get on my motorcycle she would jump up and sit in front of me on the gas tank. We would go for a short ride, she would hop off when we got back home, and I would be on my way to wherever I was going.

Right on Stickman! We have four rescue pups (Pitt/boxer/mutts), and one of our pitties is lost unless he is by my side.
Keep that little dude happy man!

Though I have no video of it, I used to run two 70+ pound Foxhounds on mine at the same time. Once they got through their head they couldn't get free of it, and that the spring loaded aspect of it would pull them back into place, distractions became less of an issue. The most important aspect of using this setup is for the rider to be experienced and competent on the bike. If you're not real good on the bike, I wouldn't recommend this. The only time my hounds unmounted me from my bike was when I got to close to a street sign and they went left when I went right. Razz Smile Didn't make that mistake twice.

Stickman428 - great pictures and a great dog! I am very jealous! I had a miniature schnauzer for 16 years. I'm actively looking for another one now, but the demand is overwhelming the supply $$$$. Wishing you many great rides!

I shaved Maverick yesterday after going waaaaay too long without a trim. He looks like a different dog! As his fur grows out the tips grow in black so his color and face changed quite a bit.

+1 I love mine, absolutely essential for fun and exercise. I have a 90 lbs golden doodle and when I say “ready? Let’s go.” He’s off to the races. Full gallop for the first 100 yards then settles down into a beautiful cadence at his own pace. We’ll go a little over a mile and a half with a water/treat break in the middle. He doesn’t even break a sweat! All I do is steer! Smile

You did a great job with his haircut. After years of taking my girl to "get her hair did" I've begun doing it myself. Not that difficult just takes about 45 minutes or so. My pup tends to get yeast infections in her ears several days after a bath despite everything I do to avoid it. I started using Zymox and it works as well or better than prescription stuff. You might keep an eye (or nose) on his ears for that.
