The National Comedy Center, on behalf of his family, said in a statement Wednesday that Smothers died Tuesday at home in Santa Rosa, California, following a cancer battle.
“I’m just devastated,” his brother and the duo’s other half, Dick Smothers, told The Associated Press in an interview Wednesday. “Every breath I’ve taken, my brother’s been around.”
I’m quite sure that the Smothers Brothers were not universally loved, but when I was in my teens, I used to enjoy their show and the entertainment they had on it.

The Smothers brothers performed locally a few years back. I took my teen daughters to the show. They really enjoyed the humor. Good clean humor.

Sad news
The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour was one of my favorite TV shows at the time.
A clip from one of their shows (same as the "tribute" clip, but w/o the annoying [to me] embedded commentary):
They still bring a smile to my face, make me laugh, to this day
RIP, Tom, and thanks for the laughs and the music.

FWIW, ensigmatic, the tribute video in the OP is built around that same perf.

I realized that after I posted. I left it up because it doesn't have the annoying (to me) commentary

Entertaining when I was younger, however as I got older and understood their politics I lost interest. Creative duo, who headlined one of the better shows in the 60-70's.

I thought they were funny and back then I didn’t understand the politics
However in spite of that they were the reason for the interest in guitar playing when the censors killed a segment and one of the writers stepped in and played Classical Gas.
RIP Tom

The yo-yo man will be missed. I hated to hear this. I was in my early teens when they had their show. I remember mom always gunching when they did a song. She really liked their singing, but every time, about half way through, Tommy would head off in the bushes. It was funny, but she wanted to hear the song

They did have nice voices and harmonized beautifully.

I vaguely remember watching the show when I was a kid, not fully understanding a lot of it, but I thought Tommy was funny. My dad hated the show. This is my favorite bit with Tommy and musical guests The Who. Watch the end, and you see the reason Townshend developed hearing problems in his career.
