Sailor1911We lost a Sheriff's Deputy yesterday
A Sedgwick County, KS Sheriff's Deputy was shot and killed while attempting to handcuff a suspect that he had just disarmed. Terrible tragedy. God Bless his soul and prayers for his family.
Press conference here details still incomplete:
https://www.kansas.com/A very difficult press conference for our friend Sheriff Jeff Easter as he lost his brother, an LEO, in the line of duty about 1996.

Elk HunterCondolences to his family, co-workers and all who are affected by this tragedy.
We are losing way too many LEOs!! I would willingly support a new law mandating that any person who kills a cop while he/she is working should be sentenced to immediate death penalty!!
Some of these dirt bags seem to be making a sport of killing cops! It has to end!

FlashlightboySorry to be reading this.
To add to the shitty news, late this afternoon a Sacramento SO was shot and killed responding to a call with his partner. She was shot in the arm but is expected to recover.
The SO was a 4 1/2 year veteran.

clubleaf206In today’s paper there is an article giving more details about Deputy Kunze. On the same page the second part of the article is on there is also an article reporting that an Allen County deputy had his drink tainted with cleaner at a McDonald’s drive-through in the town of Iola, a 22 year old employee has been arrested in connection to the case. Apparently he is also now an ex-employee.
There was a candlelight vigil last night in front of the Wichita/Sedgwick Law Enforcement Memorial, about 500 people were in attendance.

rockchalk06I never met or worked with Deputy Kunze, but I know a few that have. Said he was a damn good dude. One of my Cpt.’s cousins is his spouse.
I’ve been following Sedgwick SO and WPD’s social media since he was killed. The out pouring of support has been nothing short of amazing.
Rest easy brother.

If he can prositively be identified as the perpetrator, he should be charged with attempted murder.
