I've got one last major expense to achieve TV Viewing Nirvana in the ensigmatic household: A NAS for the DVR engine. Plan is a Synology two-bay NAS with a pair of WD Red 4TB drives. Question is: Is it worth waiting for Prime Day, or are these not likely the kind of things that'll be discounted? I've never paid much heed to Prime Day before, so I've no clue. My general impression of Amazon's big sales days has been most of the stuff they have on sale either isn't that heavily-discounted or is stuff of no interest to me. Or both. Prime Day is a vehicle to promote Amazon products: Fire, Kindle, Echo & Alexa devices... There's a wide variety of good deals, however there's good deals to be had during every holiday. There's a few things that are out there that may be worthwhile, I picked up a backup battery charger for mobile devices and one of those Instant Pots during the last one. We all know that electronics get released and get promoted during the holidays. Save up and wait till the end of the year for those, unless you absolutely need it now. | |||

Just became moot, anyway. Have a sick fur kid that may end up costing up to near $2,000 or so to save. So the $500 in NAS and drives just got put on indefinite hold.
